Throwback to a few weeks ago on 11th November when Jack, Bella & Cynthia delivered our second session of the Tier 2 Oliver McGowan training to Newham Council staff!

We have now trained 60 Newham social care staff 🥳🥳🥳 and……

Over 90% of attendees said that the training has made them more aware of the needs of autistic people and those with learning disabilities within social care services AND that the training gave them ideas for things they can do to better support autistic people and those with learning disabilities 🙌🎉

We are excited about the positive impact this training is having on our local social care team, and look forward to training more health & social care professionals over the coming months 😊

Is there anything better than having a laugh with friends?! 👀😆

Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund we’re now running a weekly friendship group with adults who have learning disabilities. The group meets each Tuesday to vote on & plan FREE monthly outings that anyone with a learning disability can come along to.

To find out more get in touch with our Community Project Workers Carys & Naashida who are in the second picture - their contact information is on the leaflet!

Yesterday Zeinab, Cynthia & Imogen delivered their first Tier 2 Oliver McGowan mandatory training in learning disability & autism to Newham Council staff 👏✨

Here is some of our favourite feedback from attendees:

“Wealth of knowledge gained from those with lived experience. This will challenge and improve my practice. Thank you”.

“Brilliant training that everyone must undergo”.

“I wish this training was done earlier in my early years as a social worker”.

We are proud to be delivering the Oliver McGowan Training to health & social care staff and from day 1 can already see the difference it is going to make in improving the care & support experienced by autistic people & those with a learning disability 🙌

We’re ready to deliver again next week!

Throw back to when we took a trip to the V&A Design & Disability exhibition on 6th September! 🖼️

Design and Disability showcases the radical contributions of Disabled, Deaf, and neurodivergent people and communities to design history and contemporary culture, from the 1940s to now.

The exhibition provided lots of inspiration for our artists to take back to Art Hub & Art Group! 🎨

Design and Disability is open until 15th February 2026, tickets can be bought on the V&A website, we highly recommend going to take a look! 👀
