As a personal stylist, one of the most common things I hear around Christmas is:
“I was saving this outfit… but my body has changed.”

And honestly? That’s normal.

I always say this to my clients: clothes are meant to fit you, not the other way around.
Whether you’ve gained weight, lost weight, or your body just feels different this year, it’s not a styling problem — it’s a styling opportunity.

That “best” outfit you’ve been saving?
It doesn’t need to wait for a future version of you.

Let me tell you something I learned the hard way…
Every Christmas I used to smile, say “thank you,” and accept gifts I knew deep down I would never use. You know the type—the jumper that isn’t your style, the perfume that isn’t your scent, the random gadget that ends up collecting dust by February. I’d convince myself it was “fine,” even though it wasn’t.

But here’s the truth: accepting unwanted gifts doesn’t make you polite—it just leaves you with clutter, guilt, and the awkward task of hiding or returning things you never asked for. And the funniest part? The people giving the gifts usually want to get it right. They want to make you happy, they just need a little help.

So this Christmas, do yourself a favour: don’t repeat the same mistakes.
If you know someone is planning to buy you a present—especially someone who doesn’t quite know your taste, or it’s their first time gifting you—don’t be shy. Show them what you actually love. Share a link, send a photo, drop a hint, make a little wishlist. Trust me, they’ll probably prefer the guidance. It makes their life easier and saves you from the stress of returns, exchanges, or letting things sit unused.

Christmas should feel joyful, not complicated.
So choose honesty, choose clarity, and choose gifts that truly bring you joy.

Here’s a picture of my beautiful clients – two incredible women I’ve had the honour of working with for many years. I was recently asked to personally shop for their birthday and a few special upcoming events, and moments like this remind me why I love what I do.

From curating looks that make them feel confident and radiant, to putting outfits together that celebrate their individuality and lifestyle, our journey has been nothing short of amazing. We’ve evolved together through seasons, fashion transitions and memorable occasions – and each time, they’ve trusted me wholeheartedly to bring their vision to life.

To be invited once again to style them for such meaningful celebrations is a privilege I never take for granted. I am forever thankful and grateful for their loyalty, their trust, and most importantly, the beautiful relationship we’ve built over time.

What started as a styling session has grown into a long-lasting partnership filled with laughter, incredible transformations, and unforgettable looks. Watching them step out feeling empowered, elegant and entirely themselves is the greatest reward.

The goal was to find statement pieces that feel festive without being over the top — chic blazers, satin separates, and a touch of sparkle in the right places.
