Looking back over 2025, our volunteers have been simply amazing. Their 810 hours of work for us has been equivalent to more than £20,000 in donations in the last year. That means 308 hours making sure there's always someone there to pick up the phone when someone calls needing our help. 375 hours helping people living with HIV to secure Universal Credit and other benefits. 50 hours sharing the amazing work we've been doing. We couldn't be more grateful for everything our volunteers do.

Today is Trans Remembrance Day. Vigils across the country will read out the names of the trans people that have been killed in the last year. We are not just remembering names here, but thinking about individual human beings that deserved the right to live free from stigma and marginalisation.

Positively UK is committed to standing up for trans rights. We were able to support 38 trans people in the last year. We have led research which highlights that the intersection of being trans and living with HIV is extremely challenging, due to combined stigmas and discrimination, exacerbated by other forms of marginalisation such as those associated with race, immigration status, mental health and housing status.

Trans women (and non-binary people who feel they are aligned with womanhood) will always be welcome at Positively UK's women's groups. Our inclusion policies explicitly protect the right of our trans staff to use the correct gendered facilities. Trans people will not be left behind as we build towards a world free from stigma of all kinds.

The World AIDS Day Red Run is just two days away, and that means that in less than 48 hours, Iain will be taking the walk of his life to restore our underfunded Gay Men's Project to the vital lifeline it used to be for LGBTQ+ men living with HIV.

Showing our gratitude for the National Lottery on its 30th birthday! 🤞

It's thanks to National Lottery funding that we organised our "Catwalk4Power" in Chelmsford this year, a beautiful day where women living with HIV were empowered and uplifted to celebrate theirselves and their bodies. Lottery funding going directly to empowering women and supporting the HIV community: that's a collaboration to be proud of.

Last year, our hardship grants put money directly into the pockets of 226 people in the HIV community who couldn't make ends meet. Joyce and Susan are raising money at the Red Run this year to bring this direct financial support to as many people as possible.

2025 has been a big year for Positively UK - last week we looked back on it all at our annual gathering of members of the public, participants, trustees, volunteers, and staff: Positively in Review. We congratulated our team on the incredible work done this year on expanding our clinical outreach into Derbyshire and East Anglia and said hello to new faces on the trustee board.

The chance to look back isn't over yet - how has Positively UK impacted you this year? Share your experiences in the comments below!

Today is Day 2 for us of spotlighting the amazing supporters that are raising money for us at this year's World AIDS Day Red Run. Today, we're highlighting All For One, One For All, a group of London women living proudly with HIV running to support our vital but underfunded services for LGBTQ+ men living with HIV.
