Vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, is necessary for the growth, development and repair of all body tissues. It's involved in many body functions, including the formation of collagen, absorption of iron, the proper functioning of the immune system, wound healing, and the maintenance of cartilage. 🍊🌶🥝🍒

Some benefits of cartilage:

Vitamin C is a strong antioxidant that can boost your blood antioxidant levels. This may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease.

Vitamin C supplements have been found to lower blood pressure in healthy adults and those with high blood pressure.

Vitamin C may boost immunity by helping white blood cells function more effectively, strengthening your skin's defence system, and helping wounds heal faster.

Introducing Muscle Mondays!!!

The Rhomboids (Major and Minor)

The rhomboids retract the scapula but also elevate the scapula. In addition, the rhomboids rotate the scapula inferiorly, or downwards.

Rhomboid pain is felt under the neck between the shoulder blades and spine. With you left feeling a strain, shooting pain, or a spasm.

Other symptoms of rhomboid muscle pain may include:

▪️tenderness in the upper back area
▪️a popping or grinding noise when you move the shoulder blade
▪️tightness, swelling, and muscle knots around the muscle
▪️loss of movement or difficulty/pain when moving the muscle
▪️pain when breathing

Rhomboid muscle pain can also cause pain in the mid-upper back, at the backs of the shoulders, or between the spine and the shoulder blade. Overuse of the rhomboids can lead to pain in the shoulders and arms.

Why do you get rhomboid muscle pain?
▪️poor or incorrect posture
▪️sitting for extended periods
▪️injuries from straining, over-stretching, or tearing the muscles
▪️sleeping on your side

Sports such as swimming, tennis, golf, and rowing can cause pain in this area. Activities and work that require you to extend your arms over the head for a long time, carrying heavy bags and backpacks, and lifting heavy objects can also cause this type of pain.

Try the stretches by swiping ➡️Enjoy!!

Myofascial cupping is a soft tissue therapy that involves the application of decompressed cups on the skin, creating a ‘vacuum effect’ that lifts up underlying tissues such as the fascia (connective tissue) and muscles, blood and other fluid, close to the surface of the skin. Myofascial cupping is typically applied on back, shoulder, neck, sacrum, hip, abdomen, legs and arms.🤗🤲

Myofascial cupping works by creating suction of the cup to produce negative pressure that causes dilatation and capillary rupture; this is what creates the reddish-coloured circles called ecchymosis or bruising, and the lasting effect of this is what is typically seen to be therapeutically beneficial.

Sports massage involves manipulation of soft tissue to benefit in regular physical activity.

Sports massage assists in correcting problems and imbalances in soft tissue that are caused from repetitive and strenuous physical activity and trauma. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury. 🤗

bookings, please feel to DM me!💌

Check out iSsome benefits below:

Pain relief- massage can reduce the feeling of pain throughout muscles by releasing endorphins. Helping decrease anxiety and improve mood as well as relieving pain

Scar tissue break down – Previous injuries may result in the creation of scar tissue and can affect muscles and tendons. An increase in scar tissue can then lead to a higher risk of injury in that area, massage has the ability to break it down

Increased blood flow – The circulation of blood is enhanced to the muscle area through massage, in a similar way to exercise. The main difference being that deep tissue massage causes your blood vessels to become wider, increasing the ability of nutrients to flow through

Prevent or relieves DOMS – known as delayed onset of muscle soreness, is assisted by the enhancing blood flow delivering fresh oxygen to the small microtears in your muscles.

Increase in flexibility – the muscle tissue expands and stretches in a number of different ways allowing for stored pressure to be released.

Supports and aids if promoting good posture- bad posture can affect muscle length and muscles become short and tight. This can reduce their overall function and increase the chances of over-use and repetitive strain injuries. Sport Massage techniques can help release these muscles.

A sound morning routine can help the tone for the day. It has been the backbone of my self-care practice and routine. Cementing these habits for me has been difficult! I am very good at hitting that infamous snooze button. By prioritising my mental and physical health has made a difference to my entire day. No more hitting that snooze button!

Here are some of my top tips for creating your ideal morning routine!

•Waking up at 05:30 am
They say ‘if you win in the morning, you win in the day.’ Without a doubt you can get so much done. I really enjoy that time before the busy day starts. Once you get going, you’ll never look back!

•Make your Bed
This has been engrained from when I was little. I guess it is seen as a chore but it makes me feel good and encourages good sleep hygiene. Who doesn’t want to crawl into a freshly made bed in the evening ?

•Wash your Face
They say skincare is self-care. Not only is a regular skin-care routine necessary for healthy skin. This can be a great way to start off a day that will be otherwise busy and stressful and I feel energised! A bonus!

•Drink luke warm water with honey
The benefit of drinking Luke warm water and honey I have found are tremendous. It has helps with clear skin, boosting of your immune system, copious amounts of energy and can even aid in weight loss (who knew ?!)

•Morning exercise, meditation

My go to is yoga as it Is gentle but a great workout at the same time. Meditation can be great for focusing on the day ahead. Negating any negative feelings you may have. It can help increase productivity and creativity as well as being a wonderful stress buster.

Have a good Breakfast
It is enviable I always wake up and look forward to breakfast, it truly is my favourite meal of the day. I feel more energised having a healthy fulsome breakfast.

Make a to do list
Journaling for me has been a great saviour and making lists too! I write down everything, my thoughts feelings, ideas and providing a introspective mindset.

It has been an exciting start to the year. With my official opening and start of my mobile services! Thank you for getti...

Reducing Muscle Pain
Got sore muscles? Massage therapy can help. Massage increases and improves circulation.

Musculoskeletal benefits
when your muscles contract, blood and lymph fluid are squeezed out, and when they relax fresh blood enters bringing fresh nutrition, oxygen, and immune cells.

Improves sleep
Not only do benefits of massage encourage a restful sleep, it also helps those who can’t otherwise comfortably rest.

Lower stress
The long-term effects of stress can take emotional and physical tolls. Massage therapy may relieve stress and conditions associated with it, such as tension headaches.
