Could your back pain been coming from a "slipped disc"? Contrary to common belief, a slipped disc is actually a disc herniation. Where a slipped disc becomes an issue is when they compress/irritate the nerve nearby (most commonly the sciatic nerve). A disc herniation will re-absorb over time & they are common age related changes to the spine. A disc cannot be "realigned" or put back into place. What can help symptoms is optimising spine movement, strengthening the muscles which support the spine & optimising nerve movement.

6) Bone takes months to breakdown & grow - you need to think about training months prior to injury (normally an increase in training).

ITB syndrome. Contrary to common beliefs, the ITB, a band of fascia that runs down the lateral aspect of your leg, cannot be directly strengthened or stretched. Only structures around the ITB can be altered. Treatment requires effective load management/exercise as well as improved control of the kinetic chain.
