Doughnut!😊
What do you call yours?
Here are some of ‘ours’ from Africa:

▪️Dondo
▪️Puff puff
▪️Mandazi
▪️Magwinya
▪️Sfenj
▪️Bofrot
▪️Koeksisters

Feel free to add to our list!

Whatever you call yours remember to enjoy very occasionally - they are delicious, but high in fat & sugar!

“You’re not working hard if you aren’t sweating.”

This is totally false! Sweating is not an indicator of how hard you’ve been working, but rather your body just trying to cool itself down.

Try not to use how much you have or haven’t sweat to gauge the effectiveness of your workout.

Celebrating ‘snack foods’ from Africa & the Caribbean: do you recognise any of these?

▪️Shuku shuku
▪️Poloo
▪️Kuli Kuli
▪️Blue Drawers (Dunkunu)
▪️Dabo kolo
▪️Fendisha
▪️Festival
▪️Luqaimat

They are delicious, but usually high in fat and sugar. Enjoy very occasionally!

Our Story

The healthy church initiative is especially designed for the Black African and Caribbean Church Community where we know there are comparatively higher numbers of people living with, and at risk of chronic avoidable illnesses such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension and some cancers
