We have heard the news from My Voice, My Choice. A Victory! A Success! But is it?

While we love any abortion victory, please do not for one second think this means that the very few under funded and under resourced abortion funds in Europe will be able to close our doors.

There is no new fund.
There has been a vague gesturing to an existing fund . . . Which has never before been used for abortion? And the criteria will be what? And the fund will be applicable where? And every country gets to make its own rules? And it's still the case that almost no country in Europe offers abortion after the first trimester?

We don't know what will happen after this vote. We will be DELIGHTED if even one abortion is paid for by this EU fund. What we DO KNOW is that our phones will keep ringing.
