1. Body engineering - Subtle muscle strength using smaller deep muscles and balancing the body weight

2.Strength - yes core and yes to some upper body but also the mind- take a leap of faith

Yoga is so beneficial for men and women, and even with a huge rise in the number of men practising yoga, still only 28% of yogis are men. They’re missing a trick, right? Check out my blog on my website to read about the many benefits for men in yoga.
Here’s my lovely yogi Mark, fabulously demonstrating the lizard pose….so good for stretching out those stubborn hamstrings, hip flexors and quads. It also has mental health benefits - releasing stress and calming the mind.

A beautiful setting in the N.Devon coast - a rural house with its own yoga studio outdoor sauna room, and campfire setting.

It was a busy but enjoyable few days and a few people managed to squeeze in some massage treatments with Imogen in the calming and peaceful holistic treatment room.

Want a focus on dynamism, energy and will power?
Sometimes yoga teachers like to centre the practise around a theme.
The last couple of classes I've done have linked May with the Mayan calendar and Fire.
In the body, the power of fire relates to the third Chakra called Manipura and centres around our digestive system
Postures associated with this chakra are all about twists and there are lots of examples and variations.
One example is Marichyasana C
Its benefits...
Massages abdominal organs, including the liver and kidneys.
Strengthens and stretches the spine.

Yogi challenge and inversions. After an early morning dynamic practice with fellow yogi’s, my energy was fired up to keep practising and perfecting this posture - pincha mayurasana or forearm stand.
Some shoulder strengthening drills like dolphin really help and each time it gets a little more controlled.
