🪣💙 Empty your stress bucket this festive season

The holidays can be joyful, but they can also add extra pressure. Think of your stress like a bucket – if it keeps filling up without being emptied, it can overflow.

This season, make time for the things that help you release stress: a walk outside, talking to someone you trust, listening to music, or simply taking a few deep breaths.

Little moments of self-care can stop your bucket from overflowing – and help you enjoy the festive period more. 💙

🚪✨ “If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”

Sometimes the changes we want don’t just appear – we have to create space for them ourselves. That might mean setting small, realistic goals, learning a new skill, or simply taking the first step towards something you’ve been putting off.

Remember: you don’t have to wait for the “perfect moment” to start – building your own door can open up new opportunities for growth and wellbeing. 💙

⬜💙 Square breathing to help you relax. Take a quick moment for yourself!

Breathe in for 4
Hold for 4
Breathe out for 4
Hold for 4

Repeat a few times. This simple technique can slow your breathing, reduce stress, and help you feel more grounded.

💙 Wellbeing Checkpoint 💙

How are you feeling today? 🤔
Take a moment to pause and check in with yourself.

It can help to notice:
🌱 Your energy levels
😊 Your mood
🧠 Your thoughts
💤 How rested you feel

There’s no right or wrong answer — just awareness. Noticing how you feel is the first step towards looking after your wellbeing. 🌿

Feeling anxious?
Anxiety can show up in many ways — racing thoughts, a pounding heart, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, or a constant sense of dread. It can feel overwhelming, but it’s important to remember: anxiety itself isn’t dangerous, even though it can feel really uncomfortable. 💙

If anxiety is getting in the way of daily life, you don’t have to manage it alone. Talking therapies can help you understand what’s happening and learn tools to cope.

📩 You can refer yourself for support today — it’s a positive step towards feeling better.

World Su***de Prevention Day — 10 September

This campaign was created by Samaritans and co-created with people who have lived experience of suicidal thoughts.

Today, we stand with Samaritans to highlight a simple but powerful truth: “If you think someone might be suicidal, take action, interrupt their thoughts, and show them you care.”

People with lived experience have shared that even small interruptions—like a sincere “hello,” checking in, or just being present—can break through overwhelming thoughts. It’s those brief human connections that can bring hope in the darkest moments.

Here are a few ways you can help interrupt suicidal thoughts:
• Send a message or make a quick call — just letting someone know they’re not forgotten can be life-saving.
• Be present and listen—without judgement, without trying to fix—your care alone can make a difference.
• Ask openly and compassionately, even if it feels difficult: “Are you having suicidal thoughts?”—just showing you’re willing to talk can bring relief.
• Help them focus on something positive or distracting, like a shared memory, a walk, or even a cosy chat—that pause can help them breathe.

You don’t have to be an expert to help—just being there, showing you care, can change everything.

Need support? Samaritans are available 24/7: call 116 123 (free, UK & ROI) or visit their website. You can also call NHS 111 and press Option 2 for mental health.

Please remember that you are not alone. ❤
