Ask most skiers what drives their turns and they’ll say their knees, but the real answer lies in the hips. ⛷️

Your ability to steer each turn depends on adequate hip internal rotation. When that range is limited, the knees and lower back are forced to compensate, increasing the risk of ligament strain, hip impingement, or ongoing back pain.

Improving hip rotation goes beyond flexibility; it’s about building strength and control through the full range of motion, so your turns feel efficient, and precise on the slopes.

Your ski preparation needs to start now, to give your body the strength and mobility it needs to ski at its best this season.

It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing it better ✨

Many of our Clients are doing the right things, just not always in the right way. True progress comes from precision, not repetition.

Posture is more than how you stand and move, it’s how your system communicates.

It reflects your efficiency, stress and adaptability long before you get pain or injury.

True high performance begins when movement becomes effortless, not forced.

Have you ever noticed your posture change with stress or fatigue?

This summer I had the pleasure of sitting down with the top concierges from Claridge’s, The Connaught, The Mandarin Oriental, The Rosewood and more.

What I observed is that the true essence of luxury isn’t visible, it’s felt.

At The Swiss Touch, we’ve taken these same principles and brought them into physiotherapy and wellness. Creating an environment where every client feels cared for, safe, heard and relaxed.

Every detail, from lighting to language, is designed to mirror the sense of ease you feel within a five-star hotel, so your body can truly rest and recover.

Luxury wellness is less about what’s added, and more about what’s considered.

Movement, but make it precise.

We pride ourselves on having an extreme eye for detail. Small changes in form can make a huge difference in exercise efficiency. That’s why we are continuously checking everything. Joint alignment, muscle patterning, body position and how you move through range, ensuring each part of your body is working as it should.

With hands-on feedback and resetting, we refine the way you move so you feel stronger, and better, faster. For the long term.

Not seeing the results you expect, even when you feel like you’re doing everything right? That’s where our precision makes the difference.

Reaction or root?

One important question your Physiotherapist should be asking..

Tightness isn’t always muscular.
It’s often a protective strategy, the body’s way of creating control when stability is lacking.

Stretching alone won’t resolve it if the nervous system remains on high alert.

Mobility work is limited without addressing underlying stability and neuromuscular coordination.

At The Swiss Touch, we ask:
•What is the body reacting to?
•What’s driving this compensation?
•Where is the true source of dysfunction?

If you want to know what your body is really trying to tell you? We are here to help.

In Clinic we are seeing more and more clients living in a low-grade fight-or-flight state, particularly those navigating high-pressure, always-on lifestyles in central London.

Fully booked work and social schedules, poor sleep, digital overload, and constant stimulation keep the nervous system on high alert. And when your body is stuck in survival mode, recovery is de prioritised.

To support real healing, we need to focus but on calming the system.
Here are some tips:

-Slow, diaphragmatic breathing
-Gentle daily movement (like walking or strength training)
-Consistent sleep, wake and meal times
-Stable blood sugar through regular meals
-Reducing overstimulation (screens, noise, multitasking)

These small, consistent habits tell your nervous system it’s safe to rest and when the body feels safe, it can do what it’s designed for; heal, adapt, and perform.

We can all take inspiration from athletes, they show us what it means to show up, stay disciplined, and become the best version of ourselves.

Living like an athlete means making consistent daily habits that align with your goals, optimise your health, and allow you to show up at your best, every day.

Here's how high performers live like athletes:
