Fight Forward

Fight Forward Fight Forward CIC founded by former Gold medalist & GB boxer Lesley Sackey. We use boxing as a tool to improve the mental health of survivors of domestic abuse.

Our mission is to help 100,000 women to Fight Forward. Fight Forward CIC is a not for profit set up by former Gold medalist and GB boxer Lesley Sackey. We exist because we believe every woman deserves to feel safe, powerful, and in control of her own life. And we’re here to help make that happen. Our mission is to help 100,000 survivors of domestic abuse use boxing as a tool to Fight Forward. What We Do

Fight Forward is all about helping women reconnect with their strength, both mentally and physically. We run transformational boxing and therapy programmes designed to support survivors of abuse, and women who want to move from a place of survive to thrive. The FightBack Club – A 10-week, high-energy boxing programme where women train like real fighters, push their limits, and, win or lose, step into the ring for the first time, proving to themselves that they are stronger than their past, and are able to thrive in their future. The FightBack Restore Programme – A powerful 8-week journey that combines boxing with trauma-informed therapy. This is about healing the mind as well as the body, giving women the tools to process their experiences, regain confidence, and move forward with purpose. Building Community & The Power of storytelling – “You cannot be what you cannot see” Edwina Dunn (Founder of The Female Lead) - Through our growing community we show that story telling matters and allows others to see they are not alone. We’re here to start conversations, challenge stigma and dispel the myths around survivors. Why Boxing? Because boxing teaches you how to take up space. It teaches you how to stand tall, move with confidence, and own your power. For many women who have been through abuse, trauma can leave them feeling disconnected from their own bodies. Boxing helps rebuild that connection. It’s about the power of taking back control.

Healing – is allowing light back into the dark places

Slowly, gently, the cracks let light through. Healing isn’t about pretending it never happened — it’s about finding ways to let light back in.

That’s what our community is here for.

Healing takes courage

It takes courage to face what you’ve been through. It takes courage to walk into a gym for the first time. And it takes courage to believe things can change.

Courage grows when we don’t do it alone.

Healing – is softening, not hardening

Abuse teaches you to put up walls. Healing is learning you don’t need them anymore. It’s letting softness back in without losing your strength.

We use boxing — not to harden you — but to help you connect with your body in new ways and reclaim your power.

Healing – is giving yourself grace

Some days you can’t do it all. Healing isn’t about pushing harder — it’s about knowing when to rest, breathe, and let yourself off the hook. Grace is strength.

We’re building a community where women don’t have to carry everything alone.

Let’s be clear: this movement is survivor-led and women-powered —
but it’s not anti-men.

To the brothers, sons, fathers, friends and partners who showed up, supported, held pads, held space, and cheered from the sidelines —
we see you.

Thank you for choosing accountability over silence.
Compassion over ego.
Presence over performance.

You remind us that healing is communal — and we’re building this new world together.

If you’ve felt moved by what we’re doing, we’d love your support.

🖤 Tag a male ally who deserves their flowers.
💸 And if you can, drop something in the crowdfunder (link in bio) to help us keep this going.

Let me know if you’d like a Canva visual concept for this — e.g. a photo + quote post with male ally highlights or a group shot from the event.

Fight Forward wouldn’t be what it is without our coaches.

It’s not just the pads, the drills, the boxing skills — it’s the way they hold the space.

The way they listen.
The way they see you.
The way they create a container where you can let it out, breathe, move, cry, laugh, fight — safely.

They show up for the moments people don’t see — the quiet ones, the wobbly ones, the breakthroughs that have nothing to do with boxing and everything to do with healing.

This space works because of the trust they build.
Because of the energy they carry.

To our coaches: thank you for holding it down and lifting all the boxers up.

It’s not too late to contribute to the crowdfunded to create more spaces for women to train and heal -link in bio

These women are survivors—but more than that, they’re leaders. Champions. Change-makers.

Celebrating each of these women who stepped into the ring—not just for yourself, but for the thousands watching who needed to know it’s possible.
