A morning off from seeing clients today, and I’m getting to work from a coffee shop on various projects like my new online platform thenervousystemjourney.com . Sat down working from my local coffee shop is giving me flashbacks to my early twenties. Before what I do now, I used to work for a health & wellness company who let me work remotely and live and travel in different parts of the world… mainly getting my laptop and notebook out in coffee shops and renting out we-work offices. From Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Paris, New York, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, to Medellin, and Mexico City. I had an overwhelming desire to explore new cities and countries. And nothing lights me up quite like exploring and discovering new countries, cultures, and learning about their way of life. It was such a formative experience and really opened my eyes to so many things, and deeply fulfilling. When you have an overwhelming desire to embody or experience something, you are presented with the concept of Archetypal expression… in this case the explorer archetype.
Every human is embodying and living out archetypes, be it consciously or unconsciously. The child, father, mother, athlete, explorer, priest, lover, artist, victim, beggar, businessman, student, entrepreneur, are all examples of archetypes. Archetypes bridge the psyche and matter, and are empty forms - but as unique individuals, we fulfil unique archetypal expressions. Which is essentially our “role” in a specific context of the world. We are all embodying various archetypes, in completely unique ways. Continued in comments...
