A morning off from seeing clients today, and I’m getting to work from a coffee shop on various projects like my new online platform thenervousystemjourney.com . Sat down working from my local coffee shop is giving me flashbacks to my early twenties. Before what I do now, I used to work for a health & wellness company who let me work remotely and live and travel in different parts of the world… mainly getting my laptop and notebook out in coffee shops and renting out we-work offices. From Buenos Aires, Barcelona, Paris, New York, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh, to Medellin, and Mexico City. I had an overwhelming desire to explore new cities and countries. And nothing lights me up quite like exploring and discovering new countries, cultures, and learning about their way of life. It was such a formative experience and really opened my eyes to so many things, and deeply fulfilling. When you have an overwhelming desire to embody or experience something, you are presented with the concept of Archetypal expression… in this case the explorer archetype.

Every human is embodying and living out archetypes, be it consciously or unconsciously. The child, father, mother, athlete, explorer, priest, lover, artist, victim, beggar, businessman, student, entrepreneur, are all examples of archetypes. Archetypes bridge the psyche and matter, and are empty forms - but as unique individuals, we fulfil unique archetypal expressions. Which is essentially our “role” in a specific context of the world. We are all embodying various archetypes, in completely unique ways. Continued in comments...

When invited me to her first ever retreat, I knew it was going to be something special and unmissable! Feeling refreshed and inspired after a wonderful week in the Algarve. Giselle weaved together some ta***ic practices, breathwork, yoga classes, yoga nidra, mental/emotional/spiritual exploration, nature walks/wilderness exploration, and my favourite of all... shamanic drumming round the fire!

I first met at Triyoga in 2019 - she has truly walked her own path, and the breadth of experience and applied knowledge allows her to facilitate magical moments, of which as a group we experienced many!

Now feeling inspired to potentially host my own retreat at Cova do Coração... let's see what 2026 brings🌅🌌

The road to achieving what we want often comes with new choices, new behaviours, new habits, new conversations, new environments, new relationships, and a new way of perceiving our internal story or myth… All of which are deeply tied to our nervous system, and ability to navigate the shifts from feeling stressed and not feeling safe, to feeling peaceful and calm. Change, even positive change, can feel unsafe to a dysregulated nervous system.

Instead of moving forward, we can freeze, shut down, procrastinate, self-sabotage, etc. Identifying what triggers us can open the door to deeper self awareness and understanding, increasing our ability to navigate discomfort which is linked to what we want to embody.

Some questions worth asking:
What are some fears associated with the outcome you’re working towards?
What are you afraid might happen if you became the person you truly want to be?
Can you get to experience what it feels like to achieve the very outcome you want, before it’s even happened?

Been using Red Light Therapy from for many years now! Not only is it relaxing and peaceful, there’s loads of interesting research on these biohacking devices.

Red light therapy devices shine specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light on your body.

The European Journal of Applied Physiology (2016) demonstrated that athletes had improved strength and reduced fatigue after using red light therapy. It has been shown to reduce muscle soreness after exercise (delayed onset muscle soreness, or DOMS) and to boost mitochondrial function which helps energy production (ATP).

For Joint Pain and Inflammation Relief: it helps reduce pain and stiffness in joints (e.g., knees, neck, shoulders). Shown to help those with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis by Pain Research and Management (2006).

For Sleep and Circadian Rhythm Regulation, it may help regulate melatonin production and improve sleep quality, especially if used in the evening. Can counteract the disruptive effects of blue light!
