SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK 📢

You all know that I’ve always been really easy to get along with, bubbly, excitable, and could start a conversation with absolutely anyone. But underneath all of that, I was painfully hard on myself.

I always struggled with low self esteem, I never felt like I was good enough, I stayed in the same self-sabotaging toxic cycles, I would lower my standards for people just to avoid conflict/disappointment, I felt like a burden to my family and friends etc.

I WAS the well behaved, passive woman absolutely not making history. Because how could I change history if I stayed in my comfortable, familiar bubble⁉️

The more time that passed, the more I evolved into a perfectionist and a people-pleaser because I wanted to make sure that I could control how other people viewed me. And if no one could critique me, no one could hurt me.

I was constantly seeking validation from things outside of myself. And if I could go back in time and tell myself anything, it would be:
🛑Stop searching for the answers in other people.
🛑Stop looking for the answers in toxic relationships hoping these partners will see your worth
🛑 Stop relying on your therapist to fix you
🛑 Stop relying on drinking to numb the pain
🛑 Stop relying on all of these things because the answers aren’t out there! ❌

You already have the answers in YOURSELF📢

And that’s a really hard pill to swallow.

A major part of this growth was finding the right self-love rituals. ❤️✨

And I want to give you all of the tools I used and that I’ve learned along the way to help you step into this version of yourself that you’ve always wanted to be but have been scared of others reactions. Scared of failing. Scared of being a disappointment. Scared of shining your light too bright that it makes other people uncomfortable. Scared of taking up space.

Monday Mantra: “Regardless of what is happening around me, I am at peace.”

I took this photo right before my first night out after being in lockdown.🌞

Oddly though, for all the trauma that we’ve all experienced as a result of this past year, I find myself lifted by hope. During the dark moments throughout this lockdown, I was able to find the light through my journey in the dark. 🌒

But I opened into the pain of being in isolation, and it slowly started to transform me from the inside out. 🤍🕊

I’ve struggled immensely with trying to make peace with myself over the past few years, and I can tell you first hand that my journey to finding inner peace so far has
been far from being actually peaceful. 😂 It was the Covid lockdown that gave me the gift of time. Something that I often took for granted.

But as with most things in life, healing hasn’t been linear. It was during the moments of confusion, fear, and loneliness where I realized how hard my ego tried (and still tries daily) to keep me safe and in the same comfortable patterns.

I just want to let you know that everything you’re feeling right now is only temporary, and it’s OKAY! You’re going to be okay. There’s no need to question the uncertainty, the chaos, and the doubt. 🤍

Trust that everything you’re feeling right now is a release of what no longer serves you so that you can live and serve your highest good. 🌈🌸

It is processing feelings, thoughts, and beliefs about yourself, especially in moments of isolation, and choosing to dissect them, process them, and release them to reach a place of inner peace. 🙏

If you’re someone who struggles with anger, frustration, rage, blowing up in the heat of the moment, anxiety, shame, depression and fear then the STOPP method works best for you! 🤍

How to use STOPP:
⭐️Practice the first two steps frequently for a few days several times a day
⭐️Read through these steps several times a day, everyday... even when you don’t need it
⭐️Start using it for minor upsets—when you notice yourself responding emotionally to something that’s happening
⭐️Over time, you’ll find that you can use it for more major or distressing situations. Like any new skill or habit, it will become automatic with practice 🤍

Learning this one strategy can really help you take control of your emotions and your life (I’m living proof of this). 🙋‍♀️ We need to be aware of our emotions in order to regulate them. It’s only when we’re aware that we’re having an emotion that we can manage it. 🙏

If we aren’t aware of our emotions coming up, then our emotions can end up managing us. 👎 So we are either managing them or they are managing us. That’s also what I’m here for. 🌞

Happy Friday, friends! I’m coming to you live from my lavish home office 🛏 with these mental health tips on how to stay motivated during lockdown. Let’s dive in! 🌞

First and foremost, I want you to ask yourself:
⭐️Who do you want to be?
⭐️ What’s your vision?
⭐️What do you want to accomplish/build?

However, if you have absolutely no motivation and don’t know what you want to accomplish, I just want to remind you that there is nothing in this world that you CANNOT learn. 🤍You’re only ever one strategy away from doing the things that you want to do. 🙌

If you find yourself experiencing unhealthy, unwanted emotions that prevent you from staying motivated during lockdown, simply stop 🛑 write the emotion down, ✍️ then backtrack ⏪ and focus right in on what it was you were thinking that may have evoked this emotional response. 🤔

Ask yourself,
⭐️For what purpose am I feeling this way?
⭐️How important is this thought?
⭐️What is this thought preventing me from achieving?

The only thing we have in this life is how we choose to respond to the circumstances and situations that we face. You’ve got this. 💪

Here’s a quick reminder for us both: if I’m comfortable, I’m not growing. Sometimes this is easier said than done, since my comfort zone feels like a warm fuzzy blanket protecting me from vulernability. But that’s what this post is all about. 🙌

Embracing vulnerability and allowing yourself to merge with your authentic self, instead of hiding away in your comfort zone. 😶
