Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust is a school of excellence founded in 1989 that provides Practitioner Trainings, CPD and Introductory Seminars in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, as well as a foundation course in 'Living Anatomy'. The founder of the school is Michael Kern, author of the highly acclaimed book "Wisdom In The Body - The Craniosacral Approach To Essential Health", now available in ten languages. Within the school's biodynamic approach there is an emphasis to work in cooperation with the underlying forces that govern our health. This involves taking a whole person and patient centred approach to treatment that incorporates an appreciation of body, mind and spirit. Our courses deliver a wide range of skills providing students with the required foundations to effectively practice Craniosacral Therapy in a professional capacity. These skills are cultivated in a supportive and creative environment, and clinical experience is gained during the latter stages of the training at the Trust's unique teaching clinic in London. The Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust is accredited and/or approved by the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA), International Cranial Association (ICrA), Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and many international Craniosacral Therapy practitioner associations. (Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist). We offer:
* a comprehensive and inspiring Practitioner Training in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
* a great programme of continuing professional development courses with leading teachers of Craniosacral Therapy and allied fields.
* regular 'taster' introductory weekends and talks in Craniosacral Therapy.
* an experiential Living Anatomy foundation course.
* a teaching clinic in London providing low cost Craniosacral Therapy treatments.
* landmark Breath of Life Conferences.
* lovely room hire facilities for classes and seminars.

Walter Russell, the American philosopher, argued that matter is not solid but crystallized light slowed by thought—that everything around us, from rocks to human bodies, is composed of light patterns shaped by consciousness. He believed the universe is fundamentally mental, not material, and that all things move in rhythmic cycles - expansion and contraction, like breath. Health, in his view, was the natural rhythm of the body, and disease was simply a disruption of that flow. Dr. William Sutherland was significantly influenced by Russell and incorporated several of his fundamental ideas into the development of the Craniosacral concept.

In 1921 Russell had entered a 39-day coma-like state, during which many of these insights came to him. He claimed to have accessed “the source of all knowledge" and on waking up, he frantically wrote down what he had seen - pages filled with philosophical, scientific, and spiritual revelations. Nikola Tesla was so struck by Russell’s insights that he urged him to seal the work away for a thousand years, insisting that humanity was not yet ready for its truths.

"Geometry is ... the silent language of unfolding and enfolding life. Spirals are the signatures of motion, the breath of space-time given form. These four spirals, each with its own tempo and law, are like elemental archetypes—whispering secrets of growth, decay, motion, and return."

What appears here as geometry is, in truth, the silent language of unfolding and enfolding life. Spirals are the signatures of motion, the breath of space-time given form. These four spirals, each with its own tempo and law, are like elemental archetypes—whispering secrets of growth, decay, motion, and return.

The Logarithmic Spiral
This is the spiral of the cosmos, of galaxies and nautilus shells. Each turn grows by a constant factor, never touching the center, forever becoming. It is the spiral of self-similarity and scale, where the pattern remains untouched by magnitude. This spiral mirrors the path of the soul evolving through realms—always turning inward, yet never collapsing. In its infinite unfolding, it speaks of the eternal.

Fermat’s Spiral
A spiral of balance—twin arms swirling from a central seed. This is the form of sunflower seeds, of the unfurling of order in the apparent chaos. It embodies symmetry, a mirror of the dualities that shape creation. Growth here occurs by area, not radius, evoking harmony between expansion and density. It is the whisper of nature’s algorithm, coded in light and life.

The Archimedean Spiral
This spiral moves outward at a steady pace—each turn evenly spaced. It is the rhythm of time, the song of clocks, the unfolding of cycles in the human mind. It tells of steady evolution, of journeys with equal steps. It is the breath of the initiatory path, where each rotation brings a new threshold, a new remembering.

The Hyperbolic Spiral
Here, the curve flees the center like a memory dissolving into the far edges of time. As it spirals outward, it slows, bending toward infinity but never quite arriving. This spiral is the geometry of withdrawal, of cosmic recession. It is found in magnetic fields and the scattering of particles. It speaks to entropy, to the unwinding of form, and to the soul’s return to silence after the dance.

Together, these spirals are the sacred choreography of space and consciousness. To study them is not to analyze, but to listen. For in their turns and arms lie the memory of stars, the breath of plants, the structure of thought, and the shape of destiny.

The issue is not always in the tissue

Your MRI doesn’t tell your story it only whispers a few lines.
Imaging shows structure, not strength.
It can’t measure resilience, adaptation, or how your body feels and functions.

Far too many surgeries are done because of what’s seen on a screen
tiny “abnormalities” that are often just normal signs of living.
Age-appropriate changes, not emergencies.

Before you rush to fix what may not be broken,
start with movement, education, and a real conversation.
You are not your MRI.
You are more than an image
you are function, healing, and potential in motion
