3 trends I’ve noticed helping people lose weight

✅ Increase in activity

The common practice preached is 10k steps. Great, if it works for you. One common factor I’ve noticed that when someone starts working with me compared to when they’re nearing the end of working with me is that their daily activity has increased. This can be in the form of exercise, walking, hobbies.

✅ Awareness around food intake.

Now this maybe an obvious one but what gets measured gets managed and if you don’t know whats coming in it’s a hell of a lot harder to regulate a caloric deficit.

✅ New clothes

This one will probably surprise you as I found it quite surprising when I noticed it a few times. People feel good in themselves after losing the weight they wanted and now their ready to show off how good they’re feeling in their bodies, it makes sense that they want to upgrade the wardrobe to match 👕

And my favourite thing to see is someone happy in their own skin and their new clothes

Do these basics well…

What you do in the gym is the cherry on top of your health and fitness 🍒

Here are 5 things you can dial in that don’t cost a penny that will have a huge impact on your health.

1️⃣ - Get outside. Walk in nature and get the sun on your skin

2️⃣ - Hydrate. 2-3L water per day, replenish electrolytes for those that are training hard and losing lots of sweat

3️⃣ - Mindfulness. For me this is my daily meditation practice but can be as simple as journaling, noting how you feel.

4️⃣ - Being present in relationships. Pick up the phone and digest what you’re loved ones are saying. Listening is a skill.

5️⃣ Eat whole foods often. A banana doesn’t have an ingredients list, this is a whole food.

BONUS - being consistently good at the above is going to get you a lot further than being occasionally great.

Over the years I’ve always said the 23 hours outside the gym are where it matters. This is a huge chunk of time where you can dial things in 🎯

All things body and mind are linked and I fully support a holistic approach to health.

Who the f*ck is this guy?!

Team! Allow me to introduce myself 👋

My name is Ryan, I have been a nutrition and strength & conditioning coach for around 5 years now.

I began my journey when I first discovered CrossFit while overseas in the military.

On my return to the U.K I began my education in strength and conditioning and was fortunate enough to become a Physical Training Instructor in the Army ⚔️

After 10 years service I made the decision to leave the forces and continued my coaching passion locally, working out of 2 different gyms gaining valuable experience working with the public.

I’ve been fortunate to work with a wide range of people from guys in the military, the first XV Cambridge based rugby team, tennis player to working single mum.

I am now currently serving in the Fire Service where I started 1 year ago. Due to my shift pattern I now only work remotely so expect to see some more of me on here gobbing off about phys

I love strength training and bodybuilding and finishing it off with a spicy conditioning piece 🌶️

As you can see I absolutely love to help people out with their goals and I look forward to helping you too as you follow my journey.
