This past month, I have attended health events in different places of faith to promote breast screening across Ealing and Hounslow. It was great to talk to women about breast screening and answering their questions.

Over these 3 events, 9 eligible women signed up to have a breast screening appointment!

Breast screening can save your life as it can detect early signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

If you have missed your appointment, please contact the Hub by call 02037582024 or by email RF-TR.LondonBreastScreeningHub@nhs.net to rebook your appointment.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in England and is the second highest cause of cancer deaths in women.

Breast screening saves around 1,300 lives each year in the UK. Finding cancer early can make it more likely that treatment will be successful.

When diagnosed at the earliest stage, 98% of women survive their breast cancer for 5-years or more.

Breast Screening is for women aged 50-71. When you are invited, please attend your appointment.

If you have missed your breast screening appointment, please contact the London Breast Screening Hub by call 020 3758 2024 to rebook another appointment.

It was really great to be part of the event with North West London ICB! I spoke to women about breast screening and booked breast screening appointments for women who have missed their last appointment.

It was a really insightful day and I am looking forward to doing more events like this across West London!

Breast Screening can save your life! If you have not been to breast screening in the last 3 years, please call the Hub 020 3758 2024 to book an appointment.

Women with a learning disability are less likely to attend their breast screening appointment. They face more challenging experiences in accessing healthcare.
This may put individuals off attending their health appointments including their breast screening appointment.

It is important that accurate information on breast screening is given to these women and their carers to encourage them to attend their appointment.

A cancer screening event for women with learning disabilities was put on by the council for Westminster and RBKC learning disabilities communities.

It was a great event where I spoke about breast screening and gave a breast checking demonstration. We also heard from Anita, a woman with learning disabilities, who has had a personal experience of breast cancer which was found by breast screening. At the end of the event, we played bingo with prizes for the winners! Always a favourite for me!

The West of London Breast Screening Service can provide reasonable adjustments including longer appointments, pre visits to the screening clinic and support from a LD nurse.

Please call the Hub 02037582024 to book an appointment.

We are very proud to have our very own mammographer Isabella in the national NHS breast screening campaign. We spoke to Isabella to hear about what it was like being in the campaign!

I feel privileged to have been a part of the first NHS breast screening campaign. Helping people is my passion and being able to do that through my career is amazing. There doesn't seem to be much awareness in Women's health, especially breast cancer which is the most common cancer in women so it was great to be a part of that campaign to raise awareness to help with early detection of breast cancer in women.

There isn't anything I don't love about being a mammographer, I love it all especially being able to help with early detection of breast cancer in women. Being able to save someone's live indirectly, every little helps and being part of raising awareness for women's health.

Taking your bra off at the end of the day feels great.

And so does getting your breast screening sorted. It can detect cancer before you can feel it. Or more likely, put your mind at rest.

So when you're invited, save the date. It could save your life.
