This innovative Penguin Cold Caps reduces chemotherapy induced alopecia (hair loss) by cooling the hair capillaries and reducing the metabolic rate of the hair follicles to a hibernated state, preventing the absorption of chemotherapeutic drugs into the hair bulbs of the scalp. We also have a closed Chemotherapy Support group, which you are more than welcome to join. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1780243225573663/ This will contain tips and support from us and from you, to one another.

“Chemo Day but distract yourself by Cold Capping and vlogging 🩵 I still hate the word Cancer but I’m slowing learning how to make it my friend. A friend that pushes me to slow down, to take care of my body and to love myself. Because Self Care is different than Self Love…”

“The truth is I have a long road ahead even after chemo but my village continues to support me and give me the strength that I need to stay positive. So THANK YOU everyone & thank you Cancer for forcing me to eliminate stress from my life and refocus my life on the things that truly matter… my peace, my health and my self love 🙏”

“If you would have told me one day I would be ice-capping at a crisp -26° Celsius while it’s a frothy 15 ° Fahrenheit outdoors all while beating stage 3 breast cancer… I would have told you you had lost your mind. But here I am.💪🏻💪🏻”

“Penguin Cold Caps were recommended to me by my oncologist. They said the technique was far superior to the hospital system available where I was being treated.”

Taste changes during chemotherapy can be surprising and frustrating. When food suddenly tastes metallic or just “off,” it’s often because treatment temporarily affects the cells responsible for taste.

Chemo targets rapidly dividing cells, including taste receptors and hair follicles, which is why some people explore scalp cooling before treatment begins.

If you’ve experienced this, what helped you most? 🤍

“I finished chemo 4 weeks ago after 12 rounds of weekly taxol/carbo and 4 rounds of AC… & I still have hair !! I cold capped with penguin cold caps and while I know this isn’t the result for everyone and my own experience with it but I’m so glad I gave it a try. I was told by multiple oncologists and nurses that cold capping wouldn’t work for the chemo regimen I was on but I still wanted to give it a shot based on the research and success stories I saw & I’m so glad I did! Shoutout to my amazing cappers , my husband, mom, & friends who helped me with this success !”

Thank you for sharing this! congratulations you’ve done so well through your journey!! ❤️💪

"World Cancer Day. Never imagined this day would mean so much to me, so fast but here we are. On January 8th, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and I officially started treatment two days ago. It’s a lot to wrap my head around, but I’m surrounded by the absolute best medical team in SF, I believe in a God who is far bigger than cancer, and I have a support system that could honestly fill an entire hospital floor."

Thank you so much for sharing this!! Sending lots of support with your journey!! .swimley

“Going into my last round of chemo and sharing my honest experience with cold capping 🤍

Everyone’s journey is different, this is simply mine. Cold capping isn’t a guarantee and it isn’t easy, but for me it helped me keep more hair and feel a little more like myself during treatment.

For reference, my treatment plan was dose-dense AC-T (8 rounds). This was filmed going into week 5 when I switched to Taxol, and surprisingly, I experienced more shedding and thinning on Taxol than AC.”
