London with kids in March doesn’t have to mean museums and long queues.

There’s actually loads on right now – from a Fairy Tales exhibition where kids can sit in the Three Bears’ cottage, to a Viking immersive experience with huge projections and battle scenes.

Teens might prefer Romeo and Juliet in the West End starring Sadie Sink from Stranger Things, while competitive families will love crazy golf at Swingers.

You’ll also find steam engines in action, gaming markets, spring blossom at Kew Gardens and plenty of free events across the city.

We asked a tween what they’d actually want to do – and this is their list.

Celebrity Best Days Out – Ben Willbond

You’ll recognise Ben Willbond from Ghosts, Horrible Histories and Yonderland – where he’s helped create some of the funniest family TV of the last decade.

But what does a comedy writer and dad choose for a perfect family day out?

His picks include:

🦕 The Natural History Museum
🎭 Shakespeare’s Globe
✈️ The RAF Museum in Hendon
🥟 Dragon Castle for family dim sum
🧱 The LEGO Store (which later evolves into Games Workshop…)

He also reveals the contents of his famous “Dad Day Pack” – a backpack containing snacks, first aid, spare clothes, sports equipment and pretty much everything short of a helicopter.

If you’re planning family days out in London, his choices are a pretty good blueprint.

🏀 Teen Test: London Lions at the Copper Box

What happens when you send a teenager to a live basketball game in London?

Fast action. Loud music. Big dunks. And a surprisingly brilliant night out.

We sent our teen reviewer Kit to watch the London Lions at the Copper Box Arena - and the verdict is clear: this is a top-tier night out for teenagers.

The atmosphere is electric, the game moves fast (no endless pauses like some sports), and the crowd is full of families and teens who actually look like they’re having fun.

In fact, it’s one of those rare outings where your teenager might even say:

"You don’t have to come if you don’t want to."

Which, let’s be honest, is basically the teenage equivalent of a five-star review.

Just sent.

Jayne Sharp’s childhood London was West End mega-shows, black cabs and conveyor-belt sushi.

Now she takes her own family to places like Chessington and Hamleys.

This is part of our Celebrity Best Days Out series — where I ask someone interesting about the places that shaped them.

If you’re not on the list yet, now’s the time.

“You were at the mercy of the driver… it was great.”

That’s Jayne Sharp on the old Routemaster buses.

Her London memories are theatre curtains rising, her recommendations - sushi spinning on conveyor belts and drum parades by the sea.

The full piece drops Sunday evening.

Reply to this with your childhood London holy trinity – I’m building a crowd-sourced list.

This London kid grew up loving Madame Tussauds, Chessington and the Science Museum.

Now he’s taking his own children to Hyde Park, the London Transport Museum and finishing the day with a film in Leicester Square.

Yep – it’s Eddie Kadi.

What I love about his “perfect London day” is how simple it is. No complicated booking strategy. No secret hack. Just the classics done properly.

We’ve shared his full family itinerary over on Substack (link in comments).

But I’m more curious about you…

If you had one perfect London day with your kids – what would it include?

Park and bakery?
Museum and pizza?
Southbank wander and hot chocolate?

Drop yours below. Let’s build a proper parent-approved list.
