The Portland Hospital, Outpatients is a well-established Obstetric & Gynaecological clinic We are open 7 days a week in Harley Street, London.

The Birth Company provides comprehensive support and reassurance in pregnancy and fertility. Same day appointments are available for Harley Street and Alderley Edge. We provide consultations, scans and blood tests by skilled sympathetic staff in a relaxing environment. Dr Gibb is available for back up support and advice if necessary. There is easy access by public transport. The clinic is in Harley Street, central London. There is no need for a referral letter from a GP or the NHS. We keep up to date with new innovations such as the Harmony test and YourBabyScan. We fulfill the requirements of all regulatory bodies. Our highly skilled sonographers perform ultrasound scans at all stages of pregnancy from Viability scans in early pregnancy through to Wellbeing and 4D scans later on in the pregnancy. We provide back up for couples having IVF abroad. We will provide a full gynaecological ultrasound scan report including ultrasound images, that you will be able to share immediately with your GP, fertility specialist or Consultant doctor. The ultrasound report and images are sent electronically to you and your referrer. Our therapists provide complementary therapies to round off our extensive provision of care.

We want to share some practical tips that you can use either throughout your pregnancy or your fertility journey to ensure you’re prioritising your mental health!

Going through fertility treatments can be emotionally, mentally and physically demanding. It is important to care for your wellbeing throughout this process:

💬 Build a strong support network: Lean on your partner, close friends, or a support group of people who understand IVF. Sharing the journey reduces feelings of isolation.

🤝 Set boundaries with others: Decide how much you want to share about your treatment. It’s okay to limit conversations or avoid questions that feel stressful.

🧘‍♀️ Focus on self-care beyond IVF: Engage in activities you enjoy, reading, hobbies, or spending time in nature, so that life doesn’t feel defined only by treatment.

We also know that pregnancy can take a toll on your physical and mental wellbeing so it’s important to take care of yourself throughout these 9 months:

💤 Listen to your body and rest when needed: Pregnancy can be physically and emotionally draining. Give yourself permission to slow down, nap, and adjust your daily routine without guilt.

💦 Eat well & stay hydrated: Nourishing your body with balanced meals and enough fluids supports not only your physical health but also your mood and energy levels.

🗣️ Seek professional support when needed: If you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or low, talk to your healthcare provider, midwife, or a mental health professional. Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness.

Our NIPT Appointments are now £450!🌟

What does an NIPT appointment test for?
• The Non Invasive Prenatal Tests will test for the probability of your baby having Down’s Syndrome, Edwards’ Syndrome or Patau’s Syndrome.

What does the NIPT include?
• The appointment is between 30-40 minutes long and it includes both an ultrasound scan and a blood test.

How do you get your results?
• Immediately after your appointment with us, your scan images and videos will be shared to you via a CIMAR link which is sent to your email address. Once we then receive your test results, we will both call you and email the report over to you.
