When said to me back in 2019 “the most important thing a parent can do is take care of themselves”. I knew I had to change. I was putting myself at the bottom of my priorities in life, and it wasn’t working. I was exhausted, and struggled to manage my 4 year old’s emotions. Of course I did, I had no emotional bandwidth.

It was only when I started looking after myself TOO that everything changed.

It is never selfish to take care of yourself too, it’s vital ❤️

For the past 6 years I’ve been working on Motherkind I’ve intentionally grown it slowly. I’ve said no a lot. So I could say yes to being present with my girls. I’ve always played the long game. I set myself a very clear boundary: I will not burnout sharing the Motherkind mission, I will live it first.

Let’s normalise going slower when we need to. ❤️
