We’ve been busy working alongside our brilliant Influencers as they plan activities for our upcoming Influencer and Champion Day next week!

Our Influencers are a group of people we support who share their experiences, ideas and perspectives to guide our thinking and help shape everything that we do at Liaise. One area they were keen to focus on was creating a healthy recipe guide that can be shared with others we support across Liaise.

To bring this to life, our Influencers have been rolling up their sleeves and getting creative in the kitchen, crafting and testing their favourite healthy dishes. We’re delighted to share Tina’s video guide, where she shows us how to make her delicious and much-loved spaghetti bolognese.

The recipe has been such a hit that Tina has even been teaching the people she lives with how to recreate it themselves – Gordon Ramsay, watch out!

We've been awarded a NorCA Star by the Norfolk Care Association, recognising the exceptional advocacy, professionalism, and commitment demonstrated by our team in East Anglia.

This award reflects a sustained period of dedicated support for an individual with highly complex needs. When the team began working with this individual, they identified opportunities to enhance quality of life through further assessment and review. Through ongoing engagement with external professionals and a strong commitment to person‑led care, the individual was reassessed, gaining access to appropriate equipment and increased opportunities to spend time outside of their room.

More recently, the individual experienced a decline in health and required an extended hospital admission. Throughout this time, the Liaise team provided consistent support, ensuring continuity of care, sharing their in‑depth knowledge of the individual, and working closely with clinical staff to support informed decision‑making and the individual’s best interests.

Alongside this, the wider team focused on preparing for the individual’s return home, thoughtfully redesigning their living environment to reflect their needs, preferences, and wellbeing.

This NorCA Star is a testament to the team’s dedication, perseverance, and unwavering belief in the people they support. We thank the Norfolk Care Association for recognising this work and for highlighting the vital role of professional advocacy in care.

Congratulations to John, our Deputy Leader at Willow Tree Lodge, who has achieved a Distinction in his Level 5 Apprenticeship in Leadership and Management in Adult Social Care 👏

This achievement marks a significant milestone in John’s professional journey. While continuing to support his team and balance work, study, and personal commitments, John demonstrated real dedication, resilience, and drive.

John also highlighted the encouragement he received from his manager and fellow apprentices, reflecting the importance of strong support networks and shared learning. At Liaise, we’re committed to investing in our people through the Liaise Academy, supporting professional development at every stage and helping colleagues grow into confident, capable leaders.

Easter was filled with smiles, creativity, and connection, with people we support choosing how they wanted to celebrate the weekend. From lively Easter baking sessions - where people we support enjoyed making and decorating their own Easter nests - to detailed craft activities that supported creativity and focus, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

For those who preferred social celebrations, Easter parties and a delicious Easter dinner brought people together to share good food and great company in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Easter egg hunts were a firm favourite, with people choosing to take part in searching for eggs, counting their finds, and sharing plenty of laughter along the way. The joy and excitement made for a truly lovely Easter for all involved.

Happy Easter from all of us! 🐣🌸

Last week was a special moment for our Liaise Influencers Network as we welcomed Charlotte, who has now begun her journey as one of our new Influencers! 🌟

Our Influencers are a fantastic group of people we support who use their ideas, perspectives, and lived experience to help shape what we do across Liaise.

To help Charlotte settle into her new role, Thomas, already an experienced and brilliant Liaise Influencer, met up with her for a Costa catch‑up. ☕💬

Thomas was wonderful in supporting her, sharing his experience, and helping her feel confident and excited about what’s ahead. The two of them spent time getting to know each other, chatting about what being an Influencer involves, and even planning future meet‑ups. It went so well that they’ve already chosen their next outing… bowling! 🎳

We’re truly delighted to have Charlotte joining the Influencers Network, and we can’t wait to see her and Thomas working together at our upcoming Influencer & Champion Day!

We were delighted to welcome families and loved ones of the people we support in our East Anglia region to a special Family Engagement Day recently - a fantastic opportunity to come together, build connections, and celebrate the strong partnerships that help people thrive.

During the day, families heard updates from our East Anglia leadership team and our in-house Specialist Support team on how we continue delivering high‑quality, person‑led care.

It was also wonderful to be joined by Tina, our East Anglia Liaise Influencer, who shared her experiences and insights on the day. Tina is part of our Liaise Influencers Network - a group of people we support who come together to share their ideas, perspectives, and lived experience to help guide our thinking and shape what we do.

Families had the chance to meet one another, speak with staff, see the meaningful activities taking place in their loved ones’ homes, and share valuable insights that help us shape the best possible support.

A huge thank you to every family member who joined us. Your continued support, partnership and trust mean so much!

What better way to celebrate the arrival of spring? Sarah, Andrew, Charles and Lisa chose to start the new season with a refreshing trip to their local park - and it couldn’t have been a better choice!

Keen to get outdoors, they set out to explore the fresh colours, new blossoms and signs of spring emerging around the park. With support from our team, they enjoyed a peaceful walk, taking in the bright flowers, budding trees and the energy of a new season beginning.

The group were fully engaged, curious and excited to discover what spring had to offer. They loved stopping to admire different flowers and enjoyed capturing the beauty of the day through photos - turning their walk into a creative exploration of nature.

Moments like these help build confidence, independence and personal wellbeing - and we love seeing people choose activities that inspire them. 🌿💛✨

We had a fantastic time at St Christopher's Special School St Francis Journeys Event!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to speak with our Liaise team this week - it was wonderful meeting you all. We loved sharing how we support young adults moving into adult care for the first time, and how we take the time to understand each person as an individual: what matters most to them, what helps them feel safe, and what they want their future to look like.

It was also a brilliant opportunity to highlight the supported living options we offer across the Midlands. Our services provide specialist transition support with a strong track record in managing complex needs with the help of our in-house PBS practitioners. Each new service is co‑produced with the people we support from the outset, ensuring it genuinely reflects their needs, priorities, and aspirations.

If you or someone you support is preparing to move into adult support for the first time, we’d love to hear from you. Our approach focuses on understanding the life each young person wants, what supports their wellbeing, their interests and ambitions, and the community connections that will help them thrive. We work closely with families, teachers, and current support teams so we can build on what’s already working and stay focused on what truly matters. Our in‑house Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Practitioners are here to listen, understand, and champion each person we support. We recognise that everyone communicates in their own way - through words, actions, routines, and behaviours. With PBS, we take the time to understand what matters most to each person, what they’re telling us, and how we can support them to live the life they choose.

What PBS looks like in practice:

· Getting to know each person we support, their routines, likes, dislikes, strengths, and aspirations
· Listening to their family, staff and others who support them
· Spending time with them in everyday moments
· Understanding what their behaviours may be communicating
· Creating strategies together that genuinely reflect who they are

Each PBS plan is shaped by the voices of the people we support. They set out what’s important to them, how best to support them day to day, and what helps when things feel overwhelming. Every plan is grounded in dignity, respect and partnership.
