Throughout February, the people we support have taken part in meaningful activities to celebrate Dignity Action Month - a powerful reminder that dignity, choice, respect and inclusion sit at the heart of everything we do.

Across our homes, people created Dignity Trees, sharing their own reflections on what dignity means to them and what helps them feel valued. With support from our teams, everyone was encouraged to express what matters most in their daily lives - from having their voice heard to making their own decisions. We’re delighted to share some of their words below.

Some homes also hosted Dignitea Parties, bringing people together over tea, cake and conversation. These moments sparked brilliant discussions about independence, respect and how we can continue strengthening dignity in every aspect of our support.

A heartfelt thank you to our colleagues for creating such welcoming and meaningful spaces - and to the people we support for openly sharing their voices, ideas and experiences.

Together, we remain committed to making dignity not just a monthly focus, but a lived experience every single day.

We're delighted to share Darren’s incredible achievement!

When Darren set out to explore new opportunities in the community, he was ready for challenges that would help him grow. With his vibrant personality and love for music, activities and meeting new people, he was looking for a place where he could truly thrive.

Joining PHAB Club gave him exactly that. Darren embraced every opportunity - from archery and rifle shooting to steering a powerboat - building new skills, friendships and confidence along the way. Over a six‑week course, he pushed himself to try unfamiliar activities and discovered just how much he could achieve.

His progress soon shone through. At the club’s awards ceremony, Darren was proudly presented with the “Most Spirited Member” trophy - a well‑deserved recognition of his positivity, commitment and willingness to step outside his comfort zone.

We had a brilliant time at Treloar's Future Fest last week! A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with Suzanne Champion, our Regional General Manager for London and the South East, Stephanie Vrabel, our Operations Manager for the South East, and Theresa Cook, our Referrals and Placements Manager.

Future Fest has been supporting students for over twenty‑five years, giving young people and their families the chance to explore options for life after Treloar’s. Events like this are such an important opportunity to start early conversations - and we were delighted to be part of it.

We loved meeting students, families, and staff, and hearing about their plans for the next chapter.

If you didn’t manage to catch us on the day but you’d like to find out more about how Liaise can support your transition into adult support, including learning more about our specialist, bespoke and person‑led approach, we’d be more than happy to chat. Just drop us a message!

This Valentine’s Day, the people we support enjoyed a wonderful mix of activities all themed around love, confidence, and creativity - and all homes were full of smiles!

Across our different regions, everyone got involved in ways that felt meaningful to them. Some spent time writing down what they love about themselves, celebrating their strengths and boosting self‑confidence. Others rolled up their sleeves to decorate their homes for Valentine’s parties, adding colour, warmth, and plenty of heart‑shaped touches. Many homes also made sure the whole environment was beautifully themed for Valentine’s Day, creating a fun and uplifting atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

It was a day filled with connection, creativity, and joy - and we loved seeing each home put its own unique spin on the celebrations.

When Jack first came to us, blood tests felt impossible. Needles were scary, surprises felt unsafe, and saying “no” was how he protected himself. But underneath that fear was someone who wanted to understand and feel in control.

With steady support from his keyworker, Jack learned about blood tests step by step. Daily social stories helped him know exactly what to expect, and he chose who would support him and what helped him stay calm - giving him ownership of the whole process.

On the day of his appointment, Jack was frightened and said no at first. But with gentle reassurance, clear reminders, and Felix’s calm support, he tried again. Even when the needle made him panic, he took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and bravely stretched out his arm.

And he did it - Jack completed his first ever blood test! 🙌

He celebrated with a well‑earned pizza, but the biggest success was how he felt afterwards: proud, brave, and more confident in what he can achieve.

A huge shout‑out to Jack and everyone who helped him reach this milestone.

At Liaise, everything we do is guided by one purpose: ensuring every person we support can live a meaningful, fulfilling life shaped around what matters most to them.

At the centre of this commitment is our Specialist Support Team - highly skilled professionals in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) who work together to deliver personalised, therapeutic support.

We recently caught up with Jess, our Head of Specialist Support, to learn more about how the team works, what makes their approach unique, and the difference this collaborative model makes across our residential homes and supported living services.

From PBS to therapeutic interventions and close partnership with staff teams, Jess offered valuable insight into how the team operates - and why their work has such a meaningful impact.

When Ben first joined us, his home team noticed he struggled to gain weight. He often reached for foods like raw onions and potatoes, and recognising the difference between foods wasn’t always easy for him. Wanting to understand why, the team worked closely with Ben’s GP - and importantly, with his mum, making sure she was part of every conversation.

With the right support and guidance, Ben was able to start new medication that has made a remarkable difference to his daily life.

Since starting treatment, Ben has been leading his own progress:

Eating Well & Feeling Stronger - Ben is choosing fruits he enjoys and can tell foods apart more easily. He’s eating more confidently and feeling better in himself.

Feeling Connected & More Present - He responds more when people call his name and shows greater awareness of what’s happening around him - bringing more smiles, connection, and joy.

Growing Independence in Daily Life - Ben is taking the lead on his own needs. When he wants a change, he gets up and moves. When he’s tired, he takes himself to bed. These may seem like small moments, but for Ben they reflect growing independence and self‑understanding.

Ben’s journey continues every day, and each decision he makes is worth celebrating. His progress is his own, and we’re proud to be beside him as he shapes what comes next.
