Excelcare was proudly established in 1989 as a family-run business. We are still family-run to this day, and instill our family values onto our colleagues, the people we care for, their relatives and friends. As an Excelcare-family, we care for each other, offering support, openness and honesty not only to each other but also to the people who live in our care home and their extended family. We welcome each individual to become part of our family, and each treat each person with dignity and respect, regardless of their age, background or beliefs. We provide high quality, person-centred care at 32 individual and unique care homes situated in Cambridge, Essex, London and Milton Keynes. We also operate a home care service which is based in London.

Today marks the close of the Lunar New Year celebrations, and across the Excelcare Family our homes have been embracing the rich traditions of Chinese culture.
From crafting vibrant decorations to enjoying delicious Chinese dishes together, residents and teams alike have shared in the joy and meaning behind this special time of year.
It has been a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the diversity within our community and to learn more about the traditions that make each culture so unique.

We’re celebrating a huge achievement across the Excelcare family… 🏆
In the 2026 Carehome.co.uk Awards, we are proud to have won six awards—including being named a Top 20 Large Care Home Group for the seventh consecutive year — with an outstanding review score of 9.9/10.
On top of our group award, we’re delighted that Buchan House, Limetree, Neath House, Peartree, and Westport have all been recognised in their regional Top 20 listings!

This evening, we mark the start of Ramadan across the Excelcare Family 🌙
This is a special occasion for many of the people who live and work in our care homes, as it marks the start of a period of spiritual discipline, prayer, and reflection.
As part of our commitment to honouring these special occasions, our homes will be adapting menu choices and ensuring time for prayer is protected.
There will also be a variety of activities planned to bring people closer to their faith, including religious services, arts and crafts sessions dedicated to creating themed decorations, and lighting candles to symbolise light, guidance, and joy.

Today we celebrate Lunar New Year across the Excelcare Family 🧧
To recognise this occasion, our homes will be sharing traditional foods, embracing culture, and creating moments that help people reconnect with cherished memories and traditions.
A range of themed activities will also be taking place, including creative craft sessions, storytelling, and decorating our homes with vibrant red and gold creations to represent happiness, good fortune, and prosperity for the year ahead.
