It always slows me after the brightness of summer. It also feels like a fresh start. My body begins to crave more rest and cosiness, more self-care moments.

By October we are fully in the season. The air changes, the days shorten, and new routines settle at home. There is still a trace of summer in us, the light and the energy, and now we can use it to steady ourselves for the months ahead.

How does autumn feel for you?

I have been quiet here for a long time…
Life pulled me in other directions, but autumn feels like the right moment to return.

The season reminds me to pause, steady myself, and pay closer attention to what my body needs.

Autumn has always felt like a reset… a shift in rhythm, a chance to begin again with slower steps.

Over the next weeks I’ll be sharing simple ways I move with the season, to support energy, calm, and health as the days grow shorter.

If you are following seasons you will know Spring is all about renewal, growth, and blossoming possibilities.

The season of ‘hibernation’ when nights were longer and we had more time to rest and work on our inner self is being replaced with longer days full of light.

This is a good season to give that extra love to your detoxifying organs/ systems, spend more time in nature and start something new or renew your passion and commitment to your health and well-being.

Spring is a time of rejuvenation, making it the perfect moment to refresh our approach to self-care.

Just as flowers bloom, let’s allow our health and passion to flourish!

✨ Take a deep breath
✨ Step into the sunshine
✨ And let the vitality of spring inspire positive changes in your wellness routine and life.

As the days lengthen and the world awakens, consider how you can infuse your life with nourishing habits. Whether it’s a mindful walk in nature, a colourful plate of fresh fruits and vegetables, or a commitment to hydration, small changes can have a significant impact on your overall well-being.

Spring is a season of growth, and our health is no exception. Set intentions for the coming months:

💛 Perhaps it’s cultivating a new fitness routine
💛 Exploring different forms of self-care
💛 Or prioritising mental health.

Let this season be a catalyst for positive transformation!

Just as the earth celebrates the return of life, take a moment to celebrate your health journey. Acknowledge the progress you’ve made, and envision the healthy, vibrant future you are creating for yourself.

Although mornings are still cold here in London 🇬🇧, the afternoon can get summer warm. (Hello tan on my face from spending yesterday afternoon in the park 🤩)

My body craves light, simple yet nourishing meals so my skin to get ready for summer sunshine. But lately, I felt a bit blah about what to eat. So I went through my old photos and realised I don’t remember what ingredients I used 😳

Can you relate to that? You scroll through your camera and see meals you used to prepare but don’t remember what you used.

One of the things on my to-do list for June is to start posting more meals and snacks we eat for the future me.

Let’s start with yesterday's dinner:
- mix salad leaves with rocket and spinach (and other leaves)
- shredded carrot
- spring onion
- tomatoes
- cucumber
- black olives
- omega seeds mix
- pecans and walnuts
- blueberries
- feta cheese

Sprinkled it with olive oil, apple cider vinegar and lemon, grey salt, paprika, and pepper. Plus slice of toasted sourdough bread with fresh garlic, salt and a bit of olive oil.

Do you love quick and easy dinners too? What’s your favourite recipe?

Toxic Green Potatoes (Solanine)

Green potato skins can be dangerous because they contain a toxic compound called solanine, produced by the potato when exposed to light or stored improperly. Solanine is a natural defense mechanism of the potato to protect it from insects.

Potatoes with high levels of solanine can lead to symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, headaches, dizziness, and in severe cases, even death. The severity of the symptoms depends on the amount of solanine ingested.

Children and the immunocompromised will be far more vulnerable to the toxic effects of solanine. Therefore, always make sure to cut away and discard any part of the potato that is green or greening.

When you don't have time to cook breakfast on those busy mornings, what do you have on the go?

I tend to grab a smoothie, enjoy sliced fried egg (or simple egg omelette with some sprinkled desiccated liver and kidneys) or some veggies and crackers with humus on those mornings I need something quick and satisfying.

I think we're more likely to skip breakfast altogether when we don't have a few quick ideas to go to when we're out of time. So let's share our quick breakfast choices in the comments below so we can get a few new ideas from each other.

Onion is the perfect companion to any recipe - it adds a pop of flavour
whether raw, cooked, sauteed, or roasted. It boasts health benefits, costs pennies, and is overall a great addition to your meals.

You also have several different types of onions to choose from. Red, white, yellow, green, and the list goes on. Have you ever tried different types with different meals to see what works best?

Green onions work best as a garnish. Especially on salads to add a little extra crunch and flavour. Red onions are delicious when roasted, and I love
the taste of raw red onion on a sandwich. White and yellow onions are
great for soups and stews.

As a child, especially during the winter season, I would eat sliced raw red or white onions on sourdough bread with homemade lard and salt. In Spring or Summer, I would put sliced spring onion on sourdough bread with butter or in salads.

What type of onion do you use the most often?
