AI has a place in private practice. Used well, it can reduce admin time and support workflow.
But this is where I see clinics getting caught out.
The risk is not the typo. It’s what happens when an error slips through unnoticed.
One inaccurate phrase in a patient record can affect coding, insurer approval, referrals, and continuity of care. If that record is queried, audited, or challenged, the responsibility sits with the clinician, not the software.
This is why AI cannot operate in isolation in healthcare admin. It needs human oversight, clinical understanding, and systems designed to catch issues early.
Speed is helpful. Accuracy is essential.
And in private practice, accuracy protects patients, income, and reputation.
If you’re using AI in your documentation workflow, I’d encourage you to look closely at where human checks sit, and whether they’re strong enough.
This isn’t about rejecting technology.
It’s about using it safely.
If you want support building safe, reliable admin systems alongside AI, book an appointment to talk it through.
