MIS or Keyhole surgery is especially useful in cases with large deformities (big bunions!) and if there is a significant rotational element to correct (big toe twisted on it’s side)

The alternative here would be a Lapidus operation (fusion of the base joint of the metatarsal) - this is a big operation with significantly long recovery and risk profile.
