Against all odds, WS DIEKEDIE LTD successfully designed and constructed a fully structured mansion in less than 2 months, even on a rigorous, waterlogged terrain.

This project demanded expertise, precision, and resilience. From architectural design, proper water control, ground preparation, and structural planning, every stage was handled with engineering discipline and site intelligence. What many considered impossible, we turned into a solid reality.

After completing the DPC, the next stage is the forming of the first course. At this point, we carefully set out and align the blocks to establish clean door and window openings, keeping the entire layout straight and accurate.

Once the first course is properly formed, additional courses are gradually added, ensuring correct bonding, level, and plumb as the walls begin to rise smoothly above the DPC.

Shaping emptiness into purpose, giving form to vision, and calling structure out of chaos.

In this project, we adopted a hybrid foundation system to address the site’s ground condition and structural requirements.

The system combines pad foundations, a raft base, and floating beams, all introduced strategically before sandfilling.

We began by setting out and excavating individual column points to the required depth. Pad foundations were then introduced at each column location — these serve as isolated footings designed to carry and distribute the heavy point loads from the columns to the soil below. Each pad was reinforced and cast to the specified thickness and dimensions.

Next, we introduced a raft base beneath the beams to create a continuous and stable platform that ties all the pads together. This raft layer serves to unify load distribution and prevent differential settlement, especially important in the waterlogged or soft-soil sections of the site.

Above the raft, floating beams were positioned and reinforced to act as the structural tie (chaining) around the building. These beams provide lateral stability and serve as a framework to support the subsequent sandfilling operation without excessive material loss.

Only after the floating beams and raft had fully cured was sandfilling operation began and will be carried out up to the required level, followed by proper compaction to ensure a solid base for the German floor and superstructure.
