The UK is leading Europe's medical cannabis market! 🚀

A new report by Prohibition Partners reveals that the UK has higher-than-expected sales due to 'unusually high' consumption per patient. By the end of 2024, around 62,960 UK patients are projected to spend €240M (£205M) on medical cannabis, averaging €3,811 (£3,261) per year per patient. This contrasts with Germany, where patients spend €1,563 (£1,342) annually.

Key findings:

UK medical cannabis prices are lower, but consumption is much higher.
The UK market is private and self-paid, unlike Germany's partially reimbursed system.
Patient numbers in the UK are set to grow by 124% by 2028, reaching approximately 141,000.
Private clinics and companies like Curaleaf Laboratories are driving this growth, offering more affordable and diverse treatment options.
