Lots of poorly clients this past few weeks so Iāve been using my trusty throat and chest balm on them. It smells amazing!
Donāt forget you lovely mamas, whilst you might not be able to call in sick like before, itās still SO important to look after yourself when you are unwell.
ā¤ļøRest when you can, even if that means calling in reinforcements- it isnāt extravagant to get some rest, itās essential!
ā¤ļømake sure you drink plenty of water - remember that dehydrated bodies canāt fight germs as well as well hydrated ones.
ā¤ļøthink about your food as you would medicine. If you have a cough/cold you want to cut down mucous forming foods like sugar, wheat and dairy and eat foods that will help you to fight the lurg. Lots of green veg, and anti viral ginger, garlic, turmeric and onions. Try and up your vitamin c too!
ā¤ļødonāt forget the power of a good old fashioned steam inhalation. A good old fashioned bowl of very hot/just off the boil water with a towel over the head (please be very careful with the water) or you can run the shower hot in the bathroom and wait for the room to steam up and then sit in there with a cuppa and a book. Try using a few drops of eucalyptus, ravensara or cajeput in the water so that it evaporates into the steam.
ā¤ļøif your cough and cold isnāt shifting, try visiting a salt cave - you can google your nearest one. Salt has fantastic anti inflammatory properties and can really help with lots of respiratory issues. And on that note - have Epsom salt baths too! Theyāll help to pull out the lurgy that sits in the joints and will give you a good dose of magnesium! And a bath is a good way to press pause and have a rest- win win!
