As we reflect on a mixed climate conference, there were some reasons to be hopeful around nature-based solutions – with initiatives such as the Forest and Land Tenure Pledge and Tropical Forests Forever Facility (TFFF).

Scriptoria’s Strategic Communications team has been at the forefront of highlighting the interconnectedness of nature, land use, climate change and food systems for many years alongside key partners.

Our recent blog with CGIAR Policy Innovations explores the challenges in feeding the world sustainably whilst also preserving nature. It shows that developing countries have been forced to expand agricultural land at the expense of nature, in response to inefficient global food trade. https://bit.ly/4aeqpVq

The blog also highlights work from Ethiopia showing how we might better align food systems with climate and environmental goals. It proves that alternative futures are possible – but they require new tools and clear communication to drive policy change.

Do you have a complex story to tell about climate or food systems? Our Strategic Communications Teams helps leading organisations turn technical evidence into influence. Drop us a message to see how we can help you.

November’s small wins for nature and climate show the power of action and ambition. The creation of new biospheres, protection for the deep ocean and plans for extensive rewilding show how communities and ecosystems could thrive. These steps may be small, but together they build a healthier planet and a more resilient future.

Data collected by large research programmes can often be scattered, ‘dirty,’ and difficult to access, hindering your ability to make timely, informed decisions. When multiple data sources are used across teams and departments, it’s easy for your data to become fragmented and hard to trust, resulting in inefficiencies and missed opportunities.

At Scriptoria, our expert Data Team offers comprehensive, full-cycle data management services designed specifically to tackle these challenges. We take a holistic approach, improving the analytical power of your data by consolidating various sources into one unified, reliable system. In addition, we build custom, user-friendly tools tailored to your needs, helping you streamline data interrogation, visualisation, and reporting.

By simplifying and improving your interactions with data, we ensure that you can leverage its full potential to drive informed decisions, increase operational efficiency, and enhance overall programme success.

As leaders and negotiators look to finalise commitments at , the focus of this year’s conference has arguably shifted to the real-life experiences of those most affected by climate change.

Scriptoria’s Strategic Communications team understands that conveying the reality of climate adaptation is essential to moving policy from abstract commitment to concrete action.

With our partners International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and CGIAR Policy Innovations, we’ve recently highlighted the transformative role that sand dams can play in climate resilience.

A sand dam is a low concrete wall built across a seasonal, sandy riverbed that over time creates an artificial aquifer, providing a reliable, local water source – particularly during dry spells.

New research from Zimbabwe shows that these simple structures can extend water availability by an average of 4.4 months a year, serving as a critical first line of defence for rural communities.

Today, on World Toilet Day, we’re highlighting the importance of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) – and the role of strategic communications in driving behavioural change.

We worked with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine to support the Nyumba Ni Choo National Sanitation Project in Tanzania – a campaign that reached over 20 million people, promoting improved toilets and handwashing practices across 2,492 villages.

We developed a project Resource Centre, bringing together everything from impact briefs, infographics and reports, to videos, radio spots and television adverts, all organised for intuitive access and practical usability. We also captured lessons learned and best practices to help establish a lasting legacy for the programme, ensuring that insights can inform and strengthen future sanitation initiatives. In addition, we produced a series of briefs and other communications outputs to help the client showcase the campaign’s findings and impact.

At Scriptoria, we are a strategy-first communications team, supporting clients across every stage of comms – from strategy and campaign design, to content creation, website design and multi-channel activations. Our goal is to create impactful, high-quality communications that deliver measurable results.

Strengthening the integrity of climate information is now a global priority. COP30 placing information integrity at the centre of its action agenda – with new countries joining the Global Initiative for Information Integrity on Climate Change – shows growing recognition that trusted communication is essential for progress. 🌍

At Scriptoria we welcome this shift. Mis and disinformation weaken ambition and slow collective action. Robust safeguards for credible climate information support governments, funders and practitioners who rely on clear evidence to shape effective programmes.

👉 If your organisation is looking to build a credible communications strategy that protects accuracy and strengthens impact, do get in touch. Our teams specialise in creating clear, resilient and forward-looking approaches that help navigate complex sustainability challenges.
