Did you know?

• Breast implants can leak or rupture

While it is not common, it usually happens 10 to 15 years after implantation.

• Usual symptoms are: a change in breast shape or texture, pain or discomfort, hardening of the capsule, a lump in the breast or under arm area.
But sometimes, there may be no symptoms. This is called a 'silent' rupture or leak .

• I usually recommend that my patients have regular breast ultrasound scans every one to two years to check on the integrity of their implants, once they have been in for five years.

Ladies, look on this as the cost of maintaining your breast implants (like you would have your car serviced).

Thank you for inviting me to visit the factory in Rio. What an educational and fun experience.

I tagged on one of my bucket list trips that was cancelled with COVID, the Atacama desert. It is other worldly. I hope to return with my family.

3 things you need to know about breast implants:

1️⃣ In the upright position, round implants can look like anatomical (tear drop) shaped ones.

2️⃣ Breast implants come in many different shapes and sizes. Work with an experienced surgeon to choose your implants. Remember that your anatomy is unique and not like anyone else’s. What might look good on your friend may not be suitable for you.

3️⃣ Your skin and soft tissues will change over time with ageing, pregnancy and breast feeding. Your breast tissue will thin after the menopause. Things will droop!
You will need further surgery on your breasts to exchange or remove your implants in the future.

Dry, wrinkly, deflated??

In the nether regions?

A lack of female hormones can cause vaginal dryness, irritation, pain on intercourse…

And ‘deflation’ of the l***a majora.

Were you thinking of having breast enhancement?

This can be done with breast implants or free fat grafting. Or even a combination of both as a ‘composite’ or ‘hybrid’ procedure.

Silicone gel in an implant weighs heavier than fat and having an implant will stretch the breast skin and speed up the natural drooping process that comes with ageing.
