It only took over 20 years of driving for me to drive abroad aka on the other side of the road. Driving most of the way from London to Northern France. I was nervous but I did it and a few days later I’m still feeling mighty proud of myself.

Whilst on-route the last place in my new Group Supervision for all coaches was secured. 🎉🎉🎉

If you are interested in joining, DM me to go on the waitlist, if I can make another group, I will 😉.

There are still 3 places remaining for the group dedicated to black coaches. https://docs.google.com/document/u/1/d/1lLdjdOnrbicqDV0D86XndPFWZ7dqrugkqZEtGlro2Vg/mobilebasic

I am LOVING seeing the weekend cohort coming through and passing their Coaching Diplomas!!!

The weekend groups always hold a very special place in my heart.

It’s such an honour to get to know them through our Saturday morning gatherings where I teach coaching skills and observe coaching sessions and the students learn and practice their coaching craft.

If you’re thinking about becoming an ICF accredited coach, come and talk to me.

I’m more than happy to share my experience as both a student, a Trainer and a Life & Careers Coach working with both private and corporate clients.

And if you do decide to train with Optimus (and mention me!), I have a Coach Training Support Package which you get for free which includes additional guidance on setting up and starting your coaching career!

Let's start with some clarification on the fundamental question of 'What is supervision?'

As someone who loves language and words, the chosen terminology around it isn't great.

Don't let the name deceive you.

For those of you who haven't experienced coaching supervision or who aren't familiar with the term it might conjure up thoughts of having a supervisor at work.

My mind and body went straight to my first experience of being supervised which was my first retail job at 16 years old in the now defunct Oasis with a horrible boss who put the fear of God in us all.

So much so I lasted 2 Saturday's before hot-footing it out of there and straight across the high street and into Russell & Bromley where my experience of being supervised was better but still not great.

Gone was the fear of being publicly lambasted across the shop-floor but it was replaced with a heavy dose of being micro-managed, having lunch breaks monitored to the minute and all on-the-clock autonomy slowly but surely eroded.

Coaching supervision is not that.

In fact it couldn't be more different.

So what is Coaching Supervision? I’ll answer in the next post!

If you have any q's, ask away. DM's are always open.

AND sign-up to receive my e-letter as I go into more depth over there where there is no character limit 😉.

I have 5 spots remaining for coaching supervision. 5 have already been taken. If one of these has your name on it, book in a call to see if we are a good fit.

It has been a minute since I showed up on the squares and its always hard knowing what to say when you've been away for a while.

Rather than overthink it, I'm going to dive right in and write from where I'm at, which is a place of growth.

Professionally and Personally.

Its funny how the ripple effect of change in one area is often reflected in another. How the force that is maturation seeps its way into the varying crevices of life, some more detectable and obvious than others but nevertheless still there, simmering.

And how that leads us into the manifestation of maturation made real. Supporting a transition that acts as a vessel for reinvention and a redirection onto a more aligned path.

The theme of reinvention is looming large for me right now.

I'm sending copious amounts of love for what you are reinventing right now.
For the transitions you are in trenches of and the ones you are dancing around as you work on allowing the knowing to rise and trusting it enough to let it take the wheel.

And for those reinventions that are inescapably inevitable yet currently remain unknown. Predestined and forthcoming and all part of the human experience.

To unknowns and knowing
To dreams and visions made real
To putting in the work , planting the seeds and tending to them
To living and working heart

I haven’t shown-up on the grid since March.

Been busy showing-up for myself, my children and my work these last 4 months and there was nothing left in the tank for anything else.

I’m still not sure there is but something has shifted and I’m feeling the call to ease in over the Summer, creating and sharing here and there.

Intentionally living a full life was the focus of today’s journalling.

A full life. A life to be lived into. To be experienced. To be felt. To be allowed. ❤️

The way she says ‘no’ makes me smile (sometimes 😉), she embodies the energy of it being a full sentence so
effortlessly.

No apology.

No shrinking.

No fanfare.

No explanation.

Just. No.

I’m already getting so much joy from simplifying and stripping back my intentional connecting and sharing (aka marketing) to one channel.

The last 12-18 months have been sticky creatively. Which felt challenging and vulnerable in and of itself, never mind adding the fact I’m a ‘creative coach’ who works with creatives talking about creativity (among other things) for a living.

All the fraudy feelings came to play as they often do when we find ourselves struggling with the very thing we teach and talk on. Even though we are helping others and sometimes the work is emboldened because we know it so deeply. (Thank goodness for supervision and therapy!)

The ideas would come fleetingly and without the vigour and vim I had previously enjoyed. Then they would float away landing just out of reach and rendering the notion of completing and finishing illusive.

And so when it was highlighted to me that the shifts (and s**t) going down in my life meant that my work needed to support life in a way it’s never had to before. I was shook.

You see I have learned behaviour of pushing through. Maybe you relate? And that’s always worked for me.

Until it didn’t.

Stripping back and simplifying became the only way, as my mind and body signalled that we gotta try something different.

Whilst I knew I couldn’t do everything, I needed (and wanted) to do something!

The idea for the ‘Dear Creator’ newsletter series came into my consciousness whilst I was working out. Getting sweaty on the stepper and there it was.

The focus on one thing has already helped unblock my creativity and opened me up in a way I hadn't anticipated.

The last few years have been and continue to be hard globally, locally and personally for a lot of us. If you could do with a creativity reboot, try stripping back and simplifying and see what happens.

Speaking of that newsletter. It’s going out on Monday.

Sharing another example of the work happening outside of the squares.

Why? Because it’s important.

Having previously bought into the ‘if it’s not on the gram did.it.even.happen’ mentality.

Over the last 12-18 months I’ve been ‘reimagining visibility’, instigated by necessity rather than any big plan.

I totally fell into it because I didn’t have the energy or resolve to be any other way.

Believe me I tried to resist.

My body and brain said a hard no.

Again. And again. And again.

Until I finally listened.

And stopped trying.

We get a very one-dimensional view of what this work looks like governed by the highlight reels and boxes that the channel of social media squeezes us into.

Which then sets the precedent and creates the paradigm that we create within.

I’m here for shifting this and presenting differing perespectives for myself and others.

So back to today where I got to spend International Women’s Day with these amazing women who are doing amazing work in the world with BelEve]. Please head over to their account to support their Match Fund Campaign with Big Give where any funds they raise in the next 7 days will be matched!

My clients are united by their purpose being driven by the desire to make a social contribution and the women behind BelEve] are the personification of that.

They are open to my different way of doing things that is compassion-centered, values-led and involves a whole lot of heart and soul.

It’s not for everyone.

I’m not for everyone.

But the creative humans that are here for the way I work.

They are really here for it.

Looking getting to bring my unique mix of pure coaching + creative strategy today.

❤️

Back to work a day later than expected (nursery delayed re-opening until Monday due to le vid 😩).

Throwing up the peace sign cos we haven’t even hit the end of the damn week and I’m already receiving ALL the lessons in keeping my gaze on the things that I can control.

There’s sooo much that is out of all of our control at the moment and existing in that and still dreaming, creating, imagining and living often feels like an uphill battle.

Rolling with the punches has never felt more apt.

And embracing imperfection will help to release a whole lot of stress.

With peace signs, copious amounts of compassion and coffee from me to you.

We’ve got this.

New Year, not quite new me but there is New Hair!!!

I’ve always been passionately critical of the New Year, New Me rhetoric and I still am although with a little less gusto.

I remain resolute that the pressure this time of year brings via commercial messages which are designed to play on our insecurities, in order to flog s**t we don’t need can do one.

Along with the narrative that we are beings who are broken and need fixing.

And this year there’s a lot less vigour in my vim (I know it might be hard to tell but there really is 😉).

This year I’m embracing Old to New.

Old stories and New stories.

Old ways and New ways.

Imperfection.

Reinvention.

And still me.

What newness are you inviting in?
