Some stuff about ‘me’.
I’m Joe Sharp, a Senior Yoga Teacher, I took a scenic route into this. After competing internationally as a skier I studied Sports Science, worked as a personal trainer, then re-trained and spent over a decade in communications — from writing speeches for government ministers to leading national public information campaigns.
My dad first introduced me to Zen meditation back in 2000, and later a healer helping me recover from a head injury (mountain biking) showed me Tibetan Buddhist practices. It wasn’t until about 20-minutes into my first Vinyasa class in January 2017 that I realised that teaching Yoga was what I wanted to do. Six months later, I began my teacher training, and I’ve never looked back. I teach full-time, am dedicated to being the best teacher I can and try to practise what I teach.
I’ve been vegan since 2014 and believe deeply in peace and non-violence — in thought, word, and action. Through my teaching, I try to help others cultivate stability, relaxation and clarity, along with the understanding and compassion that yoga and meditation have brought to my life. Ultimately, my work is about building both inner and outer peace — one breath, one moment at a time.
