I'm Annie, 👋 the founder. Starting my company 8 years ago, simply saved my life ❤️
After suffering with addiction for over 10 years, I hit absolute rock bottom when I ended up street homeless for over 2 years.
With nothing left, no family, no dignity, pride or health, no big dreams... I found recovery. I found my community and started my life over.
I simply started doing something I LOVED, every day. Which was creating professional film, photography, drone work, and content for local charities and social enterprises in Brighton. I learnt everything from scratch, scouring youtube plus a LOT of trial and error.
In 2017, Edit Sweet Ltd was born, and I continue to be passionate about every project I have the pleasure of creating.
I want to make a difference. Not just for myself, but for others.
I wanted to give back to a community that helped me beyond measure. So I started Horizon Media - a community group for people in recovery, funded by The National Lottery, The Arts Council etc. We run film and photography courses for people battling addiction and entering early recovery.
We've helped over 60 individuals from our courses and changed lives! 80% of our participants went into further education or self-employment. It works!
Edit Sweet hires people in recovery where possible for all collaborations and big projects. We train people in Horizon, give them creative job opportunities, a promising future, and show them that if I can do it, they can do it, too. We give second chances people never knew existed.
We are official partners of Lightning Fibre and won the Social Enterprise Index award in 2022.
I have pride. Dignity. A family. A home. A business. And most importantly, I have big dreams and hope.
