If you’ve ever lost weight, only to find yourself slowly climbing back again, I need you need to hear this:

You are not broken. And this is not about willpower.

Your body remembers the stress. The restrictions. The rules. So when you try to “”tighten up”” again, it fights back. Cravings peak, you feel edgy, and even a regular meal can feel like a ‘slip’.

That’s not failure. That’s your brain doing what it’s wired to do, which is to protect you when it senses threat.

So if traditional diets keep pushing your body into panic mode, what’s the alternative?

To go gently.

To teach the body that food is safe, again.

So start with this: after any meal that triggers guilt, take 2 quiet minutes just for you. Ask yourself, “What would I say to my best friend in this moment?” Then say it to yourself. Guilt softens in kindness.

Adjust your self-talk. Calling yourself lazy or broken spikes more stress, and pushes you further into weight gain. When you speak with calm, your nervous system can finally exhale.

And listen. Rebuild trust with your body by tuning into it slowly. Notice how you feel when you sit to eat. When you pause between bites. When you rest instead of restrict.

This isn’t about control. It’s about creating a sense of safety again, inside and out.

No more harsh rules. No more judgement.

Let your healing start with softness. And let your weight loss follow from that.

If you’re ready to get off this loop and finally shift your mindset for lasting results, I filmed a free 15 min video where I explain the 3 essential steps I teach clients to rewire their mind for weight loss ease, not effort.

True freedom is quiet. It’s peaceful.

It’s being able to sit with yourself.
No guilt, no shame, no sense of failure or inadequacy.

True freedom is accepting yourself, truly, deeply, and 100% unconditionally.

True freedom is choosing food because you want it, because you no longer need it to feel good.
You already feel good. You already accept you, flaws and all.

That shift won’t happen from another diet or meal plan.
It won’t simply appear when you lose the weight (because if nothing changes within, the old patterns return).

It will happen when you make peace with food, your body, and yourself.
That’s the kind of freedom, and subsequent weight loss, that actually lasts.

I wonder if anyone noticed 👀

People often underestimate the waistline-expanding power of cortisol (the stress hormone!).💥

📣 But moral of the story: progress, not perfection! ✨

The road to lasting weight loss is not perfect and linear - so go easy on yourself. Be kind, be curious, and most importantly - prioritise your health and wellbeing above all else, where you can. This makes it a million times easier to achieve AND sustain lasting weight loss (and lifelong health too!).

POLL: Have you ever considered taking a weight loss injection?
✨ ✨ ✨ ✨
These days, it seems like everyone is taking a GLP1 - like mounjaro, wegovy or ozempic.

I know that if this was 10 years ago, I would have been desperate to use them too.

But as a doctor who has since finally achieved lasting weight loss, and who now helps other women do the same, I genuinely worry about the long-term outcome for those whose weight will rebound. How it might impact their self esteem, their sense of failure, their food behaviours, their weight and their wellbeing.

If you’re looking instead for a better option that lasts, I’d love to help. Book a free 45 min discovery call with me.
