Welcome to APW, Audition Preparation Workshop.
APW is an exciting new workshop opportunity for young performing artists in 2020. The workshop is an Audition Preparation Workshop (APW). APW is specifically aimed at young adults looking to train full time on a musical theatre, dance or acting course at vocational colleges and universities.
The APW is designed to support students with preparation prior to auditioning for their chosen course.
The APW aims to:
-Encourage learners to work across the disciplines of dance, drama and music.
- Hone skills needed to stand out and secure a place at their top choice of performing arts course.
- Develop confidence by better understanding the audition process and expectations.
There are 3 types of APW we are offering:
1. 4 hour workshop
2. 3 hour workshop
3. 3 x3 hour workshop
All workshops include a professional dance warm up, technique dance combinations, 2 contrasting dance routines, panel lead audition, singing audition practice and feedback on mock audition, a pre APW guided task to assist with audition songs and monologues. Dance college and university options. We will also answer any questions students may have on alternative choices on higher education. If you choose our 4 hour workshop you also get acting audition practice looking at monologues you would prepare for students auditions. The workshop series allows students to practice the techniques and gain addition skills.
The APW are lead by two male musical theatre professionals. Luke Cartledge and Joe Press are passionate performers and teachers and hope they can help students achieve their dreams of pursuing a career in dance and musical theatre.
Luke and Joe are DBS checked and Luke has his Level 1 Safeguarding Qualification Accredited by the CPD course and first aid training and public liability insurance.
This could be a perfect opportunity for you, to offer your students the head start they need to excel in their auditions. The APW can work alongside A Level, GCSE and BTEC courses.
