What happens during an rTMS appointment at our clinic?

After your consultation, you will be comfortably seated in a chair with your head leaning back. Your clinician will place a support pillow around your neck and a personalised cotton cap on your head - these will remain in place for the duration of the session.

The treatment, administered using a magnetic coil, does not require sedation and is painless (there may be a slight tingling feeling at first, but your clinician will ensure that you are comfortable). The coil will be placed on one side of your head, and you will be asked to lie still for around 30 minutes while the treatment takes place.

Following your appointment, you are free to go about your normal activities.

Have you found that your depression has not improved with the use of antidepressants?

You may feel frustrated and unsure of what to do next. But you're not alone. This condition is called treatment-resistant depression (TRD).

The symptoms are the same, but treatment is different.

However - there is also a possibility that you could have been misdiagnosed with depression. In fact, studies have shown that it is common for those diagnosed with major depressive disorder to actually have bipolar disorder.

At The London Psychiatry Centre, 61% of our patients treated with rTMS for Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD) have recovered.

TRD is a type of depression where antidepressants have not been helpful. rTMS provides a drug-free alternative.

We have found that rTMS patients can return to work within a few weeks of starting treatment – as opposed to the average of nine months with drug treatment, psychotherapy and ECT.

Why are we the only ones to achieve such good results?

• We were the first clinic to pioneer rTMS in the UK
• We have treated highest number of patients
• We are the only clinic to publish results from our rTMS treatment

It is normal for children to have worries, whether it is about being tested at school, making friends or letting their team down in a sports game. However, there is a difference between worries and an anxiety disorder. Here's how to recognise the difference between the two:

• A worry is a feeling that we have in anticipation of a certain situation or its consequences. While a worry can sometimes feel intense and overwhelming, it usually doesn't last long, and can go away if there is a solution to the issue causing the worry or if you can distract yourself from it.

• An anxiety disorder can have a mental and physical impact. It can make you feel stressed and on edge, fatigued, nauseous, and can cause sleep problems. An anxiety disorder can affect daily life, creating challenges in relation to school, home life and relationships with peers and family.

If you have noticed a change in your child's behaviour, and you are worried that it might be related to anxiety, speak to our experienced CAMHS team for help. Our team comprises child psychiatrists, psychologists and nurses who, as well as being friendly, patient and empathetic, can provide multidisciplinary treatment for a wide variety of mental health problems in children.

Could there be a better way to treat bipolar spectrum disorder? At The London Psychiatry Centre, we believe the answer is yes, and we’ve got the data to prove it.

We know how much bipolar spectrum disorder and other mood conditions can affect your ability to live the life you want. But where traditional treatments often fall short - particularly in rapid cycling, subthreshold or treatment-resistant cases - our unique approach offers a new path forward.

Introducing The Zamar Protocol® (Precision guided high-dose thyroid hormones and rTMS protocol): a patented treatment for bipolar spectrum disorder, developed exclusively by Dr Andy Zamar.

This precision-guided programme combines:
🔹 High-Dose Levothyroxine (HDL), tailored to your genetics and biochemistry
🔹 Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), a drug-free, non-invasive treatment that stimulates the areas of the brain responsible for mood regulation
🔹 Targeted cardiac and endocrine assessments for whole-body wellbeing

🧠 Backed by peer-reviewed evidence, our results speak volumes:
🔹 96.4% of patients experienced full remission (observation period: 2 years)
🔹 Most needed just 1–2 medications (vs. 3.8 on average with traditional treatment)
🔹 33% had a disability score of zero post-treatment
🔹 Patients recovered after years of unsuccessful treatment elsewhere

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) isn't just a term for someone who lacks concentration, or a person who can't sit still. This mental condition has identifiable symptoms, and without treatment, this condition can interfere with daily life.

In adults, ADHD symptoms are categorised by inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity.

If you frequently have trouble concentrating at work and have difficulty with organisation, are forgetful of day-to-day activities and regularly lose things, and express impatience or frequently interrupt others, these could be signs of ADHD.

With the right support, you can learn to identify and control your symptoms. Find out how: https://www.psychiatrycentre.co.uk/treatments/adhd/
