This weekend, residents at Lostock Lodge enjoyed getting creative in the kitchen, decorating cakes ahead of their Brew and Brainstorm quiz ☕🍰

With plenty of skill, laughter, and teamwork, they rose to the challenge of finding a sport for every letter of the alphabet before enjoying a well-earned brew and slice of cake together.

It was a lovely reminder of how simple, everyday activities can spark creativity, connection, and lots of smiles

We recently held our First Impressions competition across our Aurem Care homes, encouraging teams to refresh their entrances and create welcoming spaces for residents, families, and visitors.

Aaron House Care Home, Penicuik were delighted to welcome a local nursery into the home today for a truly special visit.

Bringing children and older people together creates such meaningful moments. For our residents, spending time with the children sparks conversation, lifts spirits, and brings so much joy. For the children, it’s a lovely opportunity to build confidence, kindness, and an understanding of different generations.

Moments like this reflect what we believe in at Aurem Care, creating warm, welcoming communities where people of all ages feel connected.

Recently, residents from Aaron House Care Home, Penicuik enjoyed a very special day out ice skating in their wheelchairs.

It’s a brilliant example of how activities and outings can support physical wellbeing, confidence, and emotional connection, no matter a person’s mobility. Experiences like this bring joy, encourage social interaction, and create meaningful memories that stay long after the day itself.

Most importantly, it shows that activities should be accessible and inclusive, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to take part, try something new, and enjoy life to the fullest.

Because great care isn’t about limitations. It’s about possibilities.

At Buxton Lodge Care Home, Caterham, residents recently worked alongside the team to refresh the front entrance, playing an active role in the design and decoration of the space.
