Basal cell carcinoma or BCC. The most common malignancy found in humans.

BCCs are easily the most common entity I’ve seen during my pathology training so far. I personally love how straight forward they tend to be. You can often tell you’re going to have a BCC by just looking at the slide without the microscope. They can be sneaky though!

As a mum and wife of gingers as well as a doctor, wear your SPF!🧴

Uterine fibroids - What are they? Who do they most commonly affect? How are they diagnosed? What types are there, and how do they present?

This post is so special to me because it’s a collaboration with one of my best friends who also happens to be exactly the type of obstetrics and gynaecology doctor that we all hope to have - wicked smart, empathic and a champion of women - Dr Lucy Thorn.

I hope you enjoy! If you are a healthcare professional that would like to collaborate on content you are passionate shoot me a DM or email.

As always the illustration is by me, and for this post the notes by Lucy. Any constructive feedback is encouraged.

As always, all illustrations are done by me. Any constructive feedback is appreciated.

Anatomy of the ear πŸ‘‚πŸ½

An amazingly intricate system connecting the outside and inside components of hearing, transducing sound waves into interpretable information for the brain.

Part 2 will be out next week which features the key features needed for an external ear examination.

As always, I am open to suggestions for posts and constructive feedback.
