Lovely to pop in this eve to check out a recently completed garden I designed with .ward.design in Chiswick and was completed just last month.

Plants are taking nicely and everything is looking super slick - in time for Summer! Those herbs will do well in some cocktails 🍹

🚨First Show Garden Alert🚨

This June, come and visit a show garden I’ve designed at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 👀😅

The garden is called 2050 and is all about looking to the future and how we’ll be gardening and growing plants that are fit for a drier and harsher climate.

The show is on Thurs 12th - Sunday 15th June at the NEC, Birmingham. Hope to see some friendly faces there 😁

It’s key to see your hard landscaping materials in the flesh. Images on the computer will be helpful but never show you an accurate representation of how that will look in your garden and importantly - in contact with your house/ other hard landscaping materials.

So don’t skip this step!

I like to pick a few options that would work and then enjoy mix and matching to find a palette that works for the client.

This part of the design is super subjective and a subtle difference between two materials will actually be very big when used over a large space - such as for a terrace or path.

Change of scenery last week… 💄💅🏼🥂

I took just a handful of snaps at the awards on Friday… must of been having too good a good time!

Well done on the gold wins and thank you for the invitation! 🏆🏆

The Association of Professional Landscapers is an industry body that represents the best of the best. If your landscaper is APL accredited, you can trust they know what they’re doing and you’ll have a beautifully finished garden that will still look fab in many years time.

Visuals for a garden which is well underway with the construction. A lovely big deck for dining and maybe a bit of tai chi 🧘‍♀️ and a second seating space to bask in the afternoon sun.

We’re using large format porcelain, which they also do as a plank - so perfect for easily installing a mowing strip around the lawn … a natural extension of the paving.

Hope to share some pics of the completed garden soon 🥳

Visuals for a new garden on the drawing board. 😊

The client is looking to install a building at the back of the garden for a new home office and pool 🏛️

So in the meantime we’re going to leave the space to nature and allow the kids to enjoy the long meadow grass and play equipment.

The new seating area under the shade of the umbrella trees will one day be the terrace for that garden room 🍾

Bit of colour inspo from your foliage to your walls.

I’m quite keen on a stone/mushroom/earthy colour when it comes to paint in the garden. Classic colours, not too guérish.

The best thing - if you go for a washed finish, you don’t notice so much the soil/rust/algae or the hairline cracks that inevitably appear (see last pic for washed vs smooth finishes). Washed finishes are achieved by using sponges and brushes rather than rollers. It creates a toned effect that ages well and is easier on the eye.

White render is chic for a Mediterranean garden, but for a darker/woodland feel garden - consider something more earthy 👩🏼‍🎨
