“Working from home is career su***de for women”… really?
I recently came across this statement — and it didn’t sit right with me.
Because from what I see every day in my work, the reality is very different.
For many women, working from home isn’t a luxury.
It’s what allows them to keep going.
đź’— Managing painful periods when leaving the house feels impossible
đź’— Navigating fertility treatments with constant appointments
đź’— Balancing work and childcare
đź’— Going through menopause and not feeling comfortable in their body
💗 Dealing with environments that don’t always feel supportive
The list goes on.
Working from home has quietly become a form of support.
So maybe the real question is:
👉 Why is career progression still so closely linked to being physically present?
Because when that’s the case, flexibility stops being a benefit…
and becomes a disadvantage.
And the women who need it most are the ones impacted.
From a health perspective, feeling supported at work is not optional.
It directly affects energy, wellbeing and performance.
We can do better.
