I would like to share with you something very important about our body image issues at the beginning of the recovery.

The first thing is that you don’t need to love your body in order to recover. Most of the people who are starting their way to recovery literally hate their bodies. And it is ok. (It is not completely normal but it is considering recovery). The love and full acceptance will come at some point.

This point of acceptance to your body is very likely to come when your brain will be nourished well and enough. Why? Because your brain chemistry is changed because of your starvation, bingeing and compensating. Your hormone levels are not in balance and as we, women know very well it has a huge impact on our behavior and reactions.

So what is the magic cure? You have to eat! Eat enough real food for enough time and your body image issues will improve dramatically.

Oh God, what is wrong with this world... Every time I hear from my clients things like: “but carbs will make me fat very fast/ they make my blood sugar spike” etc I am dying🤯... seriously. What happened to us, people to start thinking that one kind of food is going to kill us while another one we can eat unlimited? Well, carbs won’t make you fat but not eating them and then bingeing and purging on sweets and crap food will certainly do. Please, let’s do something to be sane about food again!

As I was going back home finishing morning school run I found myself thinking about food and how hungry I am dreaming about my breakfast. Yes, I was dreaming about breakfast while 2 years ago I could live without any food until 5pm 😓I just can’t believe it now! I remember that the beginning of eating food regularly through the day was struggle for me so here it is, my breakfast;) please note it is the first one, it will be followed by another in 2-3 hours😂from eating disorders to food lover- everything is possible...

Do you remember how many beautiful moments you missed because you were too obsessed with your weight and look? Do you remember spending all weekend all by yourself just because your tights felt fat this day and you couldn't stand it? Yes, me too. But I also remember the day when I decided to go somewhere no matter how fat I was feeling that day. I remember this weird feeling of actually enjoying something, having fun. Like this year on our holiday - just playing around with kids on the beach, dressed in a bathing suit(!) and just loving the sun on my imperfect body. I thought I will never come to this point but I finally did. And you can do it too...
