Turning 40! 💃🏻

Amazing friends and family. Delicious food. Great music. A room full of love — truly nothing more I could want (apart from peace in the world) 🙏🏽🧿💖🤎🪬

Celebrating this milestone surrounded by incredible friends — some since primary school, some since arriving in London at 11, others who’ve come into my life more recently… all equally special to me ❤️

And still dancing like it’s 1999 🪩💫

A night that filled my heart and soul to the brim.

Thank you to my friends and family for making it so unforgettable.

May we always stay this young at heart!

And a huge thank you to those who brought it all to life:

(my incredible Mum!)

So grateful to you all 🙏🏽

What’s A Birthday Without Some Cake? 🎂

Last week I celebrated my 40th birthday and yes… there was cake.

A beautiful Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese icing — my absolute favourite.

And yes… I had a slice (or two).

Not because it was a “cheat day”.

Not because I’d “been good all week”.

And certainly not with a plan to restrict, count calories, or punish myself in the gym afterwards. 🙄

Because it was my birthday… a moment worth celebrating!

This is exactly what The Food Effect philosophy is all about.

Building a healthy lifestyle that keeps you slim, energised and feeling your best — while still enjoying life’s special moments, cake included!

No guilt.

No panic.

No “starting again Monday.”

Because the goal is never perfection.

And when you let go of that, something incredible happens — you let go of the weight that comes with it too.

And yes… the cake was delicious!

What a week - turning 40 🎂, Purim 🎭, my Dad’s 80th birthday… all on 3 consecutive days!

Grateful for all life’s blessings - yet even while celebrating, not forgetting what’s going on in the world. There is so much pain, uncertainty and heartache. Praying for family and friends in Israel and Iran, all those suffering in war, and longing for freedom and peace. May it come speedily for all 🙏🏽🕊️❤️

Happy 2026!! ✨

While I’ve never been one for the “New Year, New Me” idea, or extreme resolutions — I do believe the start of a new year offers an opportunity to pause, reflect, re-align, and move forward with fresh intention and clarity.

For many, that means wanting to feel more grounded and in control of their health.

For those who are new here — I thought I’d (re)introduce myself 👋🏽 I’m Dr Michelle, founder of The Food Effect™ — a nutrition practice and way of life rooted in balance, science, and long-term wellbeing.

I’m a qualified Medical Doctor (MBBS, UCL) and Nutritionist (BSc), specialising in supporting clients to optimise their weight, health, and wellbeing in a way that’s realistic, enjoyable, and designed to last for life.

No calorie counting.

No macro tracking.

No rigidity.

No extremes.

Just personalised, evidence-based nutrition that fits seamlessly into your lifestyle — so you can feel strong, happy, and confident in your body.

If losing weight, restoring balance around food and eating, or simply feeling the healthiest, most vibrant version of yourself feels aligned for 2026, I’d love to support you.

The Food Effect Method, my signature 1:1 programme, provides real-life expert guidance and sustainable results — without restriction or deprivation.

SUNDAY SALADS (with a side of lasagne) 🤗 my kinda weekend food!

Healthy eating isn’t a punishment. You can reach your goals, stay slim and healthy, whilst eating delicious food like this (and more!) 🍣🍝🥙🍱

And while I won’t pretend cheese laden lasagne is a “weight loss” food (see the last pics) - it’s one indulgent food that’s a favourite of mine and I’ll never say no to! This one had so many high fibre veggies it surely cancels out all the calories, carbs and cheese 😜

In all seriousness, once healthy eating and nourishing your body with the food it needs, becomes a way of life - you naturally become able to enjoy the indulgent foods you love - sensibly, without guilt - as part of a balanced, healthy and happy lifestyle!

Reflect. Reset. Recharge. ✍🏽 for a STRONG, HEALTHY 2026 💪🏽💫

As 2025 comes to a close, now is the perfect time to pause and reflect…

What went well?

What could have been better?

And most importantly…

How do you want to feel in the new year?

Instead of extreme resolutions, focus on small, realistic changes that actually last.

Take a moment to reflect on:

• What habits make you feel your best

• What you want to carry forward into 2026

• What you’re ready to change or let go of

• One realistic goal you’d love to achieve next year

After years of working with clients through The Food Effect, I’ve seen that the right MINDSET, BALANCE and CONSISTENCY are the true foundations of sustainable weight-loss and long-term health.

You don’t need to overhaul your life overnight — or ever.
Small, consistent steps are what build results that last.

Sounds simple?? It actually is — but most people need guidance and support.

If you’re ready to finally take charge of your health in 2026, I’d love to help!

My 1:1 programme, The Food Effect Method, provides the personalised advice, accountability and support you need to finally reach your goals — realistically and ENJOYABLY !! 💃🏻

Sweet & Spicy Nuts - the perfect healthy nibble for New Year’s Eve 🥂 So many of you asked for the recipe after I shared making these in my stories over the weekend… so here they are!

Sweet, crunchy, a little spicy, and genuinely satisfying — no blood sugar spikes or crashes.

I love these all year round, and they’re especially good to have on hand for festive nibbles without the food hangover!

This is the kind of balanced, real-life approach to food I focus on with my clients — enjoying delicious food without guilt or deprivation.

RECIPE is on The Food Effect Blog — link in my bio 💚

My top tips for staying healthy, calm (& happy!) over the holidays ✨

The festive season is here — bringing with it celebrations, family time… and lots of food!

If you’re feeling stressed about “derailing” your health or weight loss goals, not to worry — I’ve got you covered.

Here are my top 3 tips to help you stay healthy and reassured — heading into January feeling GOOD…

1️⃣ Don’t head out hungry!

“Saving calories” by skipping meals or under-eating during the day when you know you’re heading out in the evening is a sure-fire setup for overeating. Arriving overly hungry makes it much harder to tune into hunger and fullness cues — and often leads to excessive eating later on.

2️⃣ Snack smart before you go!

A small, balanced snack can make a huge difference.
Focus on protein, fibre and healthy fats for optimal satiety and blood sugar stability. This combination helps you feel calmer around food, stay fuller for longer, and reduces the urge to overindulge on sugary foods later on.

3️⃣ Change your mindset and ditch the guilt!

Try not to let food stress overshadow what really matters — enjoying this special time with friends and family. And remember: if you do overeat or overindulge, it’s no big deal.

Nothing is “ruined”. Stay kind to yourself, move forward, and gently return to your usual healthy habits when you can — without guilt or punishment.

Enjoyment matters more than eating “perfectly”.

If you’re ready to start the New Year with simple, personalised nutrition support that fits your life, and doesn’t involve deprivation, I’d love to help.

My 1-on-1 programme, The Food Effect Method, is designed to make healthy eating easy, enjoyable, and sustainable.

HEALTHY HEARTY MINESTRONE 🍲✨

I shared that I made a big batch of this at the start of the week - with the London weather suddenly FREEZING 🥶 I’m even more glad I did!

It’s packed with plant-based protein (if you watch my stories you’ll know I’m bean-obsessed!), fibre, veggies — all in all, a ton of gut-loving goodness!

Nourishing, satisfying and comforting, whilst still being totally waistline-friendly… what more could you want!?

It’s also incredibly easy to make — perfect for quick weeknight suppers or for meal-prepping a big batch over the weekend.

If you haven’t yet made it, this is your nudge — true healthy comfort in a bowl. Recipe is up on The Food Effect blog — link in my bio! 🤗💚
