I shared that I made a big batch of this at the start of the week - with the London weather suddenly FREEZING 🥶 I’m even more glad I did!

My famous NO-BAKE SWEET POTATO SPIDER WEB COOKIES 🍠🍫🍪🕸️ Whether you celebrate Halloween or not, this recipe is a must!

One of the very first recipes I created for The Food Effect Blog – and to this day, it remains one of the most popular (and most delicious!)

These have been made and remade by myself, so many of you on here, and countless clients over the years… and for good reason!

They’re truly more delicious (and so much better for you!) than a Snickers.

They’re also:

Feel like your eating’s been all over the place lately?? 🙃 You’re definitely not alone!

After weeks (or even months!) of holidays, family meals, social events, or just being out of routine, it’s normal to need a bit of guidance getting back on track with healthy habits.

Whilst I truly believe indulging and enjoying delicious food with loved ones, is one of life’s greatest joys alongside healthy eating 🍨🥗 when it’s prolonged, we usually crave a return to balance!

Here’s what I personally do when I’m feeling this way, and what I guide all my clients through as part of my 1:1 program THE FOOD EFFECT METHOD:

1. Don’t Go Hungry 🙅🏻‍♀️

The biggest mistake people make after indulging is trying to restrict or eat less. Don’t do it! Restricting only keeps you stuck in the binge–restrict–craving cycle.

Just get back to your normal healthy routine — the goal is to nourish, not punish!

Which follows on to…

2. Nourish Your Body 🫶🏽

Focus on balanced meals with lean protein, fibre, healthy fats and wholesome healthy carbs.

This keeps your blood sugar steady, curbs cravings, and helps you feel energised and in control again (rather than craving the cookies because you think you have to eat just chicken breast & lettuce!)

3. Let Go of the Guilt 🧘🏻‍♀️

Remember, it’s just food! There’s no need to feel bad or stressed over it. Once you focus on nourishing your body - your energy levels, metabolism, and joy naturally fall back into place.

This is why I focus on MINDSET as much as the right NUTRITION — because real, lasting transformation comes from not just what you eat, but how you think about food!

HOLIDAYS WITHOUT THE WEIGHT GAIN ✈️

Think weight loss means eating grilled chicken and salad while everyone else tucks into pizza and pasta?? I’m here to tell you… it doesn’t have to be that way!

These are just some of the meals my clients enjoyed over the summer holidays (yes, bread, pasta and carbs included!) 🍞🍝🍣

And the best part?? Not one of them gained a pound on their return.

SETTLING INTO SEPTEMBER 🌟 Healthy Habits Made Simple…

As we head further into September and ease back into our usual routines, now is a great time to re-establish healthy habits…

If healthy eating feels overwhelming, and you’re finding it hard to juggle this for yourself and / or your family alongside all of life’s other obligations, I’m here to show you that getting back on track can be simple AND enjoyable!

I always encourage my clients to focus on the POSITIVE changes they can ADD into their days, rather than obsessing over what to cut out. Small, sustainable shifts are what make all the difference!

Here are some of my own non-negotiable “feel-good” habits — in the hope they give you ideas and inspiration for your own routine:

1) Fuelling my body and never skipping meals – I always make time to eat, no matter how busy I am. Keeping our energy levels stable (and avoiding that dreaded “hangry” feeling!) is key for health, weight management, and all-round happiness.

2) Including healthy fats in every meal and snack – fats are essential for satiety, stable energy levels, and preventing those all too common sugar cravings. Don’t fear fats… as I tell my clients: “you need fat to burn fat!”

3) Prioritising gut health – a healthy gut positively impacts digestion, immunity, mood, and even weight. I always make sure to include plenty of gut-loving fibre every day.

4) Enjoying my morning coffee – my daily joy! Research even shows moderate coffee intake has health benefits. If coffee isn’t your thing, herbal teas, matcha, or lemon water are also great rituals to start your day.

5) Mindful eating – I’m working on staying off my phone during meals and simply enjoying the delicious fuel my body deserves. It’s not easy, but it makes a huge difference!

The fastest way to feel better and break the unhealthy eating cycle is by going back to wholesome, balanced meals – with healthy carbs, fibre and fats included.

Deprivation is never the answer.

Cutting out real food only leaves you craving sugar and unhealthy “junk” food later on.

That’s the power of consistency and perseverance.

It’s what I always tell Sienna… and what I remind my clients. Because truth is, it works just as well for healthy eating and weight loss as it does for monkey bars! 💪🏽

Vibrant, flavour-filled, waistline-friendly and packed with goodness - protein, fibre, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, healthy fats and more!!

Perfect for summer BBQs, picnics or light suppers. It keeps perfectly in the fridge for next-day leftovers or a brilliant packed lunch!

You can swap the feta for chickpeas or vegan feta to make it dairy-free or vegan — either way, it’s a total winner!
