How I’ve spent most of lockdown ⬆️ (pint of ice cream optional, but recommended in this heat!)

I think I’m pretty much there with planning the wedding, so now I’m worrying more about how my endo might affect the day. Does anyone have any tips for how to manage an endo flare up on your wedding day? 👰🏻

DAY ONE • SELF CARE•
.

Today was dedicated to self care (outside of my working hours), I gave myself a facemask, did my eyebrows and dyed my hair. When I went to Malaysia at Christmas my hair did what it always does when it’s exposed to long term sunlight, and started going very blonde. So for now, back to the dark side I go 💇🏻‍♀️

78% of you asked for it, and here it is, the social distancing photo challenge! My aim is to have a bit more cheer and lightheartedness on social media and remove the constant posts about the virus-that-shall-not-be-named. At a time when we are physically distancing ourselves from everyone, it is even more important that we continue to stay in contact through other methods and stop people from feeling so alone 💛 if you want to join in, please tag me, I would love to see your posts!

CoVid-19. It’s been a bit of a bu**er hasn’t it 🦠 I haven’t really been wanting to post recently, it feels a bit weird to just carry on online without acknowledging it (especially when everyone’s fighting over toilet paper and pasta), but I didn’t really know how to acknowledge it. So here’s me acknowledging it exists, and so far it’s been nothing more than an inconvenience and concern to the majority of us, but that could all change at any point.

I’ve enjoyed having a break from the barrage of CoVid coverage on my personal Instagram. Scrolling through posts about clothes, holidays, handbags, weddings and so that’s what I’m going to do here. Post things that provide me (and hopefully you) a welcome distraction from the pandemic. It’s important to be up to date with everything going on, and it changes so rapidly, but for our mental health it is also important to take a break.

How have you found dealing with the CoVid coverage? And what anti-CoVid stuff would you like to see?

Today MPs launch an inquiry to investigate the challenges faced by 1.5 million women with . We urge everyone with endometriosis to take part
and advise the Government on what steps need to be taken to ensure people with endometriosis are getting the right care at the right time.
The new inquiry, led by the APPG on Endometriosis, will investigate the many challenges facing those with endometriosis, and what steps the Government needs to take to turn this around.

Sir David Amess MP, Chair of the APPG on Endometriosis said: “The APPG is delighted to give women with endometriosis and healthcare experts the opportunity to share their first-hand experiences of endometriosis so we can produce a set of recommendations to the Government. The APPG is committed to raising awareness of the condition and representing the views of those affected and we urge as many people to come forward as possible to respond to the inquiry”.

Emma Cox, CEO of Endometriosis UK said: “This inquiry is a welcome opportunity for the Government and NHS to get real about the impact of endometriosis on individuals and society, and to take it seriously. The Inquiry provides the Government with the opportunity to deliver recommendations for much needed improvements for the diagnosis, treatment and support of 1.5 million women living with the disease – and reduce the suffering of future generations. We urge all people with endometriosis to take part in the survey. This is a huge opportunity to push for real change for people affected by endometriosis and shape the way care is delivered in the future”.

What self-care strategies do you use for your endometriosis-related pain?

Researchers from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire are interested in learning more about women’s self-care strategies for managing chronic pain associated with endometriosis. The goal is to increase what is known about self-care interventions for endometriosis, so healthcare workers will be more informed when providing care. To participate in this study, you must have endometriosis, you must not be a minor, and you must live in the U.S.A.

Please consider following the link to take a short, 10-minute survey about your personal experiences with this condition.
