Its World Iron Awareness Week. Iron is an essential mineral needed for growth and development. Iron helps carry oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body. It is necessary for energy production, muscle function, and supports a strong immune system. Since our body can’t make iron, it’s important to get enough from the foods we eat to keep everything working properly.

Our New Zealand beef and lamb are high in iron. Eating a varied, balanced diet with up to 500g per week of cooked, lean red meat (which equals about 700 to 750g raw) is a great way to optimise iron intake. 🇳🇿

Last week, we had the pleasure of attending the Worshipful Company of Butchers Ladies Lunch- a special event that celebrated the strength and empowerment of women within the meat industry.

We were inspired by a powerful speech from Florence King, The Lady Mayoress, and enjoyed reconnecting with friends and colleagues over an exceptional meal:

🍅Starter: Basil melon, tomato & prosciutto salad

🐑Main: British racks of Lamb with pea & mint puree, roasted new potatoes, asparagus, caramelised red onion & chimichurri

🍓Dessert: Summer berry trifle with fresh berries

What an incredible night at the Craft Guild of Chefs Awards last week! 🇬🇧👨‍🍳

We were honoured to sponsor this prestigious event, where the industry’s brightest talents were recognised for their passion, skill, and dedication. From rising stars to seasoned professionals, each award winner represented the very best of the culinary world. Congratulations to all of the incredible chefs, teams, and restaurants who took home awards — your hard work and creativity continue to inspire us all. 👏🔥

A special congratulations to KIOKU by Endo, named New Restaurant of the Year, with the award proudly presented by our Regional General Manager, Helen Scott. 🌟

As part of the evening, guests enjoyed a feature main course crafted using our premium Lumina Lamb:

A slow-cooked pressed shoulder of Lumina Lamb, topped with a fine herb crust, accompanied by a roast loin of Lumina Lamb, Rosti Delmonico, dry ratatouille, and finished with a refined lamb jus. 🐑

We extend our sincere thanks to the Royal Lancaster Hotel for their outstanding hospitality and for providing a fitting setting for such a distinguished celebration of culinary excellence.
