Have you noticed that the pollen levels keep rising every year? Global warming is increasing the level of CO2. The more CO2 there is in the air, the more plants grow and produce pollen through photosynthesis. C02 also warms the earth's atmosphere (hence the name global warming) which extends the time that plants can grow and produce pollen (more warm days). Source:
What does this mean for people who already have high histamine levels? If you're allergic to pollen, your body will create more histamine, effectively causing your "histamine bucket" to overflow. This is why your histamine-related symptoms (rhinitis, watery eyes, itchy throat, skin issues) may get significantly worse in the spring.
Tips: Start taking natural antihistamines (such as Quercetin) well ahead of the spring season (1-2 months), reduce or eliminate high histamine foods and alcohol from your diet during spring, do a daily nasal rinse, change your clothes once you come in from outside, keep the windows closed in your house, don't dry your laundry outside (they may collect pollen), manage your other histamine triggers (e.g. stress).
