Something you might not know about me…..

In 2008, just after I left the Army, I got an opportunity to work in Egypt for the Year….

Honestly, looking back, it was one of the best experiences of my life

I got to work with my brother from another mother in a county that I would probably never have gone to, especially as a 20 year old

But here’s the thing

At the time I complained a lot

❌about the food
❌the heat
❌being away from home
❌missing the night life back home

There’s was probably more stuff

I was so ungrateful, I didn’t appreciate what an opportunity I had……

I heard this quote during a recent binge watch of The (American) Office….and made me think

It’s so easy to get so caught up in the day to day stuff that I sometimes I don’t stand back and appreciate the time now….

One day I’m going to look back and wonder where the time has gone….

Just like looking at the these pictures, I can’t believe it’s 16 years ago!

This weekend I’m going to make an extra effort to soak up the time 🫡

Delighted to welcome Mark to our online fitness community.

Mark had been going to gym but with no real direction but he was keen to get stronger with added accountablity.

I’ve personally worked with Mark to create a program that fits around his life and build habits that align with his goals….

The best bit is that these workouts and habits are all trackable via the member app

ALL of our online clients get an individual account and I give a personalised review of their progress each week via video call and/or message.

It’s a real pleasure to see him throw himself into the workouts and start building healthy habits, both in the gym and in the kitchen.

We’ll keep you posted with Marks journey as he progresses on the program

I failed……BIG TIME

I’ve failed a bunch of times, so many times…..

Anyone who says they haven’t are lying

I’ve failed on a fitness journey,
I’ve failed businesses
My first attempt on level 3 PT course
I failed my first attempt on my driving theory test
I’ve failed in the boxing ring

BUT

One of my biggest failures is this

As most of you know I used to be on the British Military,

I joined up when I’d just turned 18 years old and I served with the Royal Green Jackets/The Rifles

Here’s the thing though

I got into loads of trouble, I mean loads

I was getting mixed up in behaviour that is just not acceptable in the Military…..

I got a court martial, but that’s not why I got discharged

Here’s the big failure……

I failed a CDT

A CDT is a compulsory dr*g test

Which tests for recreational dr*gs,

Dr*gs are a MASSIVE no no in the military

And I just didn’t think these rules applied to me,

So on a weekend when back home, at a pub in Chislehurst I took some coc*ine

Of course I deserved to be discharged,

But I was devastated….joining the military is all I ever wanted to do…..

I wanted to experience more of what military life had to offer and my career ended before it had really gotten started…...

Today though, I’m so grateful that things happened the way they did, as this gave me the big realisation that I needed to start taking life seriously,

So I could level up and be more responsible

I know it’s a cliche……but cliches are cliches for a reason…..

Failure is only a failure if you don’t learn from it,

Fortunately I don’t get involved in that type of behaviour anymore

And when I decided to move on from that type of behaviour my world quite literally opened up…….

Gareth came to me wanting to gain consistency with his fitness regime and was desperate to lose some weight.

I could relate to how he was feeling, I’ve been there myself…..

Regaining discipline around food and looking after himself via healthy habits and routines was up there on his list of priorities

But with no clear avenue to get there…..

Here’s the thing

Working with me on my online program is more than just taking part in fitness sessions and tracking and understanding your diet

It’s about taking back control of your mindset and feeling like you can tackle life without forfeiting your health…..

The fact is life happens and there’s no guarantee tomorrow is going to go the way you want it to go….

But if you’re in a better place physically and mentally you’ll be able to deal with life…..on life’s terms

Now Gareth can deal with life and is able to show up at work and his personal life….

He can even go shopping for clothes and enjoy the process 😉
