A new discussion in the House of Lords has revealed that many taxpayer-funded stop-smoking services are not meeting NICE guidelines.

This means people trying to quit aren’t always getting access to the full range of recommended support.

💡 Lord Moylan highlighted that despite £150m of public funding each year, many services rely mainly on NRT and v**es, rather than offering all four NICE-approved routes, including behavioural support and group sessions.

This raises real questions about both quit success and value for money.
