From beginners to advanced & especially those like myself who have illnesses that can affect or have an impact (stress) on your mobility, joints & energy levels due to Lupus & Lupus related illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis & chronic aneamia (fatigue) which is just some examples. Tuesday Tone.

Standing Variation Leg/Hip Abduction Exercises:
Tone & strengthening the hips, buttocks (gluteus minimus + medius). The sides sitting on the outside & middle muscles of the buttocks, upper thighs & pelvic stabilisation.

As I'm asked alot about resistance training due to the many years my joints & bones have been affected by Lupus (autoimmune disease). For a full breakdown on my Lupus SLE story visit www.gelliottservices.com about me section.
Lupus SLE symtoms can include joint & muscle pain often presenting itself in most common parts of the body such as knee's, hips & spine. Also with the ability to cause inflammation that can create Lupus related illnesses. This can cause challenges when considering getting a good resistance workout to do that can tone & strengthen body parts.
But also by doing resistance exercises which is beneficial to overall health & aiding reducing the severity of symtoms such as pain from inflammation by strengthing muscles & joints (surrounding area or the site affected).
Lupus Awareness Note: Active Lupus SLE can cause Sacrolitis which is inflammation of Sacrolliac joints (SI) the pelvis & spine connection. Where the top of the thigh joint is connected to the pelvis. When inflammed due to any triggers can be very painful (lower back & hips/upper thighs) affect daily mobility. So doing exercises that can help improve health & strength of muscles & joints that stabilise & surround the point of inflammation is beneficial.
* I was diagnosed after an MRI scan & investigation by my Lupus rheumatology consultant during my hospital appointments.
The great thing about resistance band exercises is that any level fitness person can benefit from improving tone & strengthening muscles & joints. Tailoring you're own goals. The most important thing is ensuring technique is done properly. That's where qualified trainers like myself are here & to apply adaptations should they be needed as not one size fits all.

Starting position: Pick which resistance band strength you want to use. The thicker the band the higher the resistance (weights replacement). Step into your band & raise it onto your calves or above the ankles.
Stand up straight facing forward including feet which should be hip distance apart. Have your arms in whatever way provides you with stability. That could be hands on hips or arms up out to the sides. I have my hands holding eachother in front at my waist (personal preference). The movement is generated from the hip & not the moving foot.
Try to keep the foot from touching the floor. This can be challenging whilst keeping balanced. It's okay if it does touch the floor as with time & continuity it will get easier as improvements in strengthing those areas will increase stability & balance.
Repetition sets: Starting goal 15x minimum each. If it's too easy then increase number.
1. Raise the leg/foot straight up from the side slow enough to feel the resistance & lower to the standing leg.
2. Raise the leg/foot (foot slightly turned outwards) at an angle backwards as if you was standing in a square box & was directing your foot to the direction of a corner of the box 🔲 & back again towards the standing leg.
3. Back Leg Raise. Raise the leg/foot behind you until you feel the resistance & lower.

Variation Floor Exercises: Muscle Stretch & Tone. • Hips Opener • Thighs • Glutes (buttocks).
All these fitness variations not only help to improve muscle tone, mobility & overall health. But also can contribute to strengthing & conditioning the body for yoga poses you may want to do are already doing for example 'Tiger Pose'.
Disclaimer: Please seek professional advice from a medical/health practitioner before doing any exercises.
Due to joint issue's etc. I do position my hands differently (alternative to standard placement/position). If you do not have any ailments then have your hands in regular position palm's flat on the floor.
All exercises are done in the position on all four's. Aside from moving the arms onto the forearms instead of stacked.
Starting from seated to on all four's.
End position from on all four's to seated.
This is not a full workout video.
If you were to use this as a workout. 20-30 Reps each leg per exercise. 10 sec. Breather between each set. Making sure you stretch the muscles used at the end.

1. Fire Hydrant. Lift bent leg & lower which is at 90° degrees making sure it's from the hip.
2. Donkey Kicks. Keeping the leg in the same formation bent at the knee lifting the foot up (kicking) as high as you can manage (helps tone the underbutt).
3. Knee to Chest. Extended version of Donkey Kicks. Bring the knee into the chest: abdominal muscles will contract as they are are squeezed, lowering your head, arching your back (upwards) & then lift up just as you do with donkey kicks (back arched downwards) raising head up. This exercise also lengthens the spine.
4. Back Leg Raises. Straight leg with foot slightly turned out. Raise up & down.
5. Forearms Donkey Kicks. The same exercise just being on your forearms & face the floor so you're not overextending the neck muscles.
6. Leg Raise Crossover. Similar to back leg raises. Just on lowering. Lower the foot over the opposite foot on the ground. Up & down.

Omg when you get excited about making something new Get all the ingredients start cooking & then think. I'll just stick to ordering it at a cafe/diner.
The stress trying to get it as described it should be on the recipe had me spinning.
What I learnt is I need a new frying pan. It tasted good but I oversold the magic in my mind 🤣🤣🤣

Three Ways Stomach Crunchies Exercises. A great set of floor exercises which tone, strengthen & stretch the lower + upper abdominals. I would like to serve a few purposes with this. 1. Highlighting a rare disease kienbocks, which is a Lupus related disease. Something I had never heard of until I was diagnosed with it. 2.
