A Body Forever is an online wellness platform run by founder and coach Amy Brogan. ABF offers 90 day programmes for busy women who want to feel happy, healthy and more confident in their bodies + minds. DON’T BE A SLAVE TO THE NUMBERS

I am a firm believer than scales are the devil. They are addictive, they don’t tell the truth and they suck you up and spit you out. I know a lot of people women who get completely addicted to weighing themselves and I have never seen it lead to anywhere good. On a good day the numbers make you feel on top of the world and the next, when they have moved a smidge, you suddenly get a pang of panic.

My ethos, ditch those scales. It is not living. You do not need scales to dominate your life or tell you how to feel. Your body will tell you. Don’t be a slave to the numbers - it is not living. Life is too short. Nail the basics of leading a balanced healthy life and you should never have to step foot on a scale, ever.

DON’T STOP

The only difference between people that succeed and people that don’t is the ones that succeed didn’t stop. They kept going, no matter what, no matter how hard, how long, or how many times they had to keep getting back up, they kept going. It’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey. This goes for anything you want to achieve, fitness goals, health goals, career goals. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time. Put the work in and stick to it long enough and you will get the results you have been craving.

JUST DO IT

You can see why Nike really nailed the brief. So simple and so true. There are times when we don’t feel like doing that workout, going for that walk, getting out of the house, taking that next step, calling that person. This statement applies to anything but if you count down from 3 and then “Just Do It” you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. Nothing is impossible. Our minds make it feel impossible, until it’s done.
