Anita Cavrag Helping Founders fall in love with their business again - or start a new venture that lights them on fire! 🔥 I'm Anita, a Psychologist and Executive coach.

I’m best known for helping brilliant, accomplished founders and business owners reconnect with themselves and their purpose — so they can fall in love with their business again — or start a new venture that lights them on fire! Because I’m a massive nerd, everything I talk about is well thought through and likely based on scientific research or something I've read by experts much smarter than me. Basically everything I share comes from studying the human mind for over 20 years, plus my experience as an HR expert, leader, and now a career and executive coach who has helped 60+ clients reconnect with their purpose and transform their work lives. Oh and I'll be mentioning cats. I’m a crazy cat lady and I’m not even embarrassed about it. And yes, I have in fact been late to things because a cat sat on me and I didn’t have the heart to move it.

CONFESSION:

Here's one thing I used to neglect until I completely ruined my own experience as a business founder... before I came back to my senses and fixed it.

The most important asset,
the sharpest, deadliest WEAPON for building your successful business is -

YOU!

You, and your energy, and your emotional stability and your mental strength.

Entrepreneurs like to think that "self-care" and "doing things for fun" are the opposite of working on their business.

Whereas the truth is that self-care and fun ARE working on your business,
because that’s how you make sure you stay in top shape.

That's how you fill your tank, and build resilience for all the crap that's gonna come raining down on you next week.

That's how you sharpen the axe.

Because if you don’t sharpen the axe, it gets blunter and blunter,

and there are only so many trees you can cut with a blunt axe.

Just my 2 cents 😉

Someone asked me if I work with neurodivergent business people.

Here’s the thing.

We are ALL neurodivergent and ADHD to an extent - because how could we NOT be with constant overstimulation and dopamine and cortisol overload??!

So I guess I do 😉

But also, if we’re all neurodivergent, then what’s the point of the label?

Look, if you need 5 espressos before noon just to stay upright,
and cure the hangover from last night (because you had one too many to take the edge off),

and your first meal is dinner at 8 p.m. after you’ve been starving all day,

only eating cake that Rita from HR served because it was her birthday,

and the first and last thing you stroke in bed is your PHONE,

as you stay up until 1 a.m. watching political debates on Youtube and typing angry emails…
..then NO WONDER you’re neurodivergent and ADHD!! I’d be surprised if you weren’t!

Maybe these are the best coping mechanisms you were able to find against overwhelm...

But what if there’s a better way?

What if there’s a way to stay productive without living the lifestyle of a squirrel on steroids?

There is. It includes getting rid of these absolutely destructive habits.

Because your biggest asset, your sharpest weapon for building a successful business is YOU. You, and your mental stability and your energy.

So imagine how much easier your life would be if -

rather than clinging onto a diagnosis that you refuse to treat -

you admitted that it was YOUR DECISION to sacrifice your mental, emotional and physical health in the name of entrepreneurship...

and then – made a different decision.

I’ve heard this sentence from high-achieving founders and leaders more times than I can count:

“I have everything I worked for, and I still feel like something is missing. Should I just be more grateful?"

And then comes the guilt for even admitting that.

What if the problem isn’t you, but the goal you’re chasing?

Listen to one of the most successful sales trainers on the planet Thor Saleswarlord 🔥 explain why happiness is a wrong goal to chase - and what to aspire to instead.

What do YOU think about happiness as a goal?
What's your highest aspiration in life?

I don’t just help people with their business and their careers.

I help them become the person they're proud of.

And when that happens, they don’t just work differently.

They LIVE differently.

As approved by dozens of husbands and counting 😄

Woohoo! I just got certified in Points of You® 🎉

The moment my life turned upside down was when I realized our lives aren’t defined by what’s happening to us -
but by the STORY we’re telling ourselves about what’s happening to us.

And then I realized some of my stories sounded like Quentin Tarantino and Lars Von Trier decided to make a movie based on some 19th century Russian novel...

Ever since, I’ve been experimenting with tools that leverage storytelling to expose the lens that you’re looking through without even realizing it:

- The untested assumptions, the irrational beliefs.
- The meanings you attach to setbacks.
- The supersized, catastrophic conclusions you reach every time things don’t go according to plan.

The hidden agreements you’ve made with yourself long ago that you still oblige although they’re making your life harder than it has to be.

I CAN’T WAIT to start using this with my clients and help them rewrite the scripts that are running their lives!!

Your life is as good as the story you’re telling yourself about it.
So why not choose a better story?

One emotion I’m *extremely alert to* is RESENTMENT.

Other emotions come and go, but resentment is an acid that corrodes the bottle that holds it until it seeps into every area of your life.

Resentment is a sign I haven't been taking responsibility for my choices, so I end up blaming others and feeling like their victim.

It's also a sign that I've been holding onto my righteousness so I can feel like I'm "better than them."

Where are you in resentment and what are you afraid would happen if you let it go?
What would then be true about you?

Also, what would then be possible?

This is your friendly reminder that if you’re not at least mildly DEPRESSED, ANXIOUS and PURPOSELESS from time to time, given the state of the world…
..you might legitimately be a sociopath.

While the world is on fire as our economy is about to collapse and the old world order is crumbling down and everything we thought we knew is hanging by a thread,

and it looks like entire professions are about to be erased by AI, and the speed of change is unprecedented so you can’t even plan the next month, let alone the next year…

…in the middle of ALL that…

Do you think it’s NORMAL to feel normal?
â €

Anxiety is the price of being awake.
Depression is the cost of understanding where we actually are and what we’re about to lose.

And lack of purpose is what happens when the stories that used to guide our understanding of the world no longer make sense.

But the new ones haven’t been written yet so we’re staring at a blank page.

So cut yourself some slack.

It’s normal to not feel normal. It means you’re paying attention.
It means that you care.

(It also means you're probably not a sociopath, so take comfort in that 😅)
â €

But now?

It’s time to take all that attention and care and direct it towards the greatest tool in your arsenal for going through life successfully: YOUR OWN STATE OF MIND.

Because sometimes, the most altruistic thing you can do is make sure you stay in good mental shape so that you can deal with all the s**t that life throws at you without becoming a total miserable prick.

The essence of misery at work is the same regardless of your job role.

It always depends on whether or not you can answer this question:

"How can I do what I love and get well paid for it?"

But for business founders, misery takes a very different shape than it does when you’re an employee.

Because as an employee, you can always blame external factors - your boss is an as***le, company culture is chauvinistic, your colleagues are lazy, you aren’t paid enough, there’s too much stress…

And you can maintain the illusion that maybe the next job will finally be perfect for you, you just have to find it…

But as a business founder, you don't have that luxury.

Because it's just YOU, and your demons.

So if you're miserable in your own business, that means it’s YOU who created that experience for yourself.

Which sounds like bad news, but it’s also good news because it’s also YOU who has the responsibility to fix it.

And more importantly - POWER.

So. Are you willing to face how you’re creating your own misery?

Cause if there’s no one left to blame, what excuse do you still have?

Sooner or later, all startup founders experience burnout. But not (always) because they're working too hard...

But because on their path to success, they've completely lost themselves.

It's actually EMOTIONAL burnout that comes from the chronic lack of meaning and purpose that you haven't addressed.

Most clients who reach out to me, they're great at executing, leading, achieving. So on the outside, everything looks normal.

But no matter how much they win and prove themselves, nothing can fulfill that gaping hole inside.

Because inside, they are miserable.
And possibly even more dangerously: RESENTFUL. They resent themselves, their business and their life.

Cause they work so hard only to gain so little!

So WTF is even the point, right?!

They can’t sleep without pills, can’t function without caffeine, can’t unwind without alcohol, can’t be mentally and emotionally present at home, and can’t remember the last time their life actually felt good.

And they can see that something needs to change...

They just don’t know *what* to change (or how) without burning their whole business down to the ground or moving to Nepal to live among goats.

So they do what high-functioning, brilliant entrepreneurs always do:

- They overthink about it
- they blame themselves because they are "spoiled and ungrateful"
- they read self-help books because those promise to hold all the answers, and you need some goddamn answers right?
- pretend like everything's OK cause they don't want to seem week
- try to suck it up and be a man about it cause "business is supposed to be hard so quit whining"

It doesn’t help and it only ruins your relationship with yourself.

Because this isn’t a neatly defined problem you can solve with strategy and logic.

And you definitely can't just ignore it and hope it'll pass...

Because this is an IDENTITY CROSSROADS.

It's a question of your *life purpose,* of who you're meant to be and what you're meant to do with your life that's worthwhile and that won't feel like a total waste of your time on Earth.

If that's you, and you’re done with busting your butt off to build a business and a life you don't even wanna be in, let's have a chat.

In our conversation, we will:

1) Look at your specific context and identify the root causes of your misalignment and the problems that come with it.

2) Pinpoint the biggest bottlenecks — the forces that keep pulling you away from your values, purpose, and vision.

3) Get brutally clear on where you are now vs. where you want to be.

4) Answer the question most founders avoid:
Is this something to reignite, or is it time to move on to a new chapter?

5) Outline the fastest, most meaningful changes you can make in your business to feel aligned and alive again — without burning it all to the ground.
